Empire of Sycon

Empire of Sycon

Socerto: Socerto is the capital city of the Empire of Sycon. Socerto is a castle city surrounded by a tall wall and battlements. The City is a tall and bustling one. The buildings are set in a Eastern European style with tower houses, half-timber houses and buildings being common place with narrow streets. Socerto has a night life that is not seen in most of Arkendrose. Special taverns dedicated to the vampire's enjoyment.

Emperor Bazavier: The Empire of Sycon has only been an empire for short time. Late in the year 1000 AA the Kings Counsel Lord Bazavier executed a plan to depose of King Loyal. Bazavier had gained tremendous support from the people of Sycon. The majority of the King's court had begun to support Bazavier as well.

The Lands original to the people of Sycon had been for many years Attacked and often occupied by Armies training from the Kingdom of Corgen. Many times in the past, fragile monarchies formed and fell, however most of the time the outer isles of Sycon were under permanent occupation by the Corgenites. This Kingdom of Sycon under the Loyal dynasty managed to survive a few generations of kings. The first two kings tried to recapture and re-unite the lands of Syconia. They managed to regain control of the entire mainland of the Syconian people. The last of the Loyal dynasty was far weaker than his predecessors. He had a kind heart but he was too timid to lead his people to unity.  When the pressure of an impending Corgenite attack became apparent, Lord Bazavier used it to gain the support of the people. He traveled to the provinces of Sycon rallying support for his cause under the guise that he was on mission for the King. As support for him grew in the outlying regions so did it in the capital. Soon he was strong enough to challenge and remove the King. When the time was right he did so. He had King Loyal the Third captured and imprisoned in the castle Dragon while he prepared Sycon to retake all of its lands and remove Corgen completely.

Lord Bazavier rallied the people of Sycon under him and on that ground he built an army strong enough to contend with the Armies of Corgen. Corgen, seeing this build up of power, halted their plans for attack. Instead they planned for the defense of their fortresses Krag and Jasone. As a token of good will to the people, Lord Bazavier recaptured Sycon Island; one of the three major islands that surround Sycon's mainland. After the successful liberation of the Sycon Island the Knights of Sycon endorsed Lord Bazavier giving him the support he needed to end the Loyal dynasty. Lord Bazavier had King Loyal the third executed at the Dragon. He later named himself Emperor of Sycon.

Sycon now stood strong enough to rival the occupying forces of Corgen. Corgen noting Sycon's recent success turned its greatest weapon, The Doom's Day Tower, on Sycon destroying many defensible structures and finally targeting Sycon Castle. Sycon Castle is the home of the Knights of Sycon and was the base of half of Sycon's military.

Emperor Bazavier turned to Sycon's neighbors to the south, a dark elf territory who recently fell into the hands of the Empire of Coastaar. The lands military was controlled by a General Tibbs at the time. Emperor Bazavier met with this general asking for their support in the liberation of the remaining two isles of Sycon. The military support came with a heavy price. The Empire of Coastaar would get one of the two islands in return for their assistance. With heavy reluctance Bazavier agreed to the terms and the two hashed out a plan to attack Jasone and Krag. Coastaar would take the larger of the two fortresses Jasone due to Coastaar's superior army and battle organization. Sycon would take Krag and destroy Corgen's Doom's Day Tower.

The first attack was swift. The Empire of Coastaar stormed the fortress Jasone. From the sea they bombarded the walls of Jasone to make way for the full scale assault. Within two days Jasone was captured and Sycon had destroyed the Dooms Day Tower. The second attack on Krag was made by Sycon. This fortress was set back from the ocean too far for naval support. Sycon had to land and make the assault solely on foot. Corgen was far better prepared for the defense of Krag then they were for Jasone. The attack was a success; however, it took almost two weeks to complete. In the end Krag was handed over to the Empire of Coastaar and Jasone was handed to Sycon.

New Blood Involvement: Long have the lands of Syconia been a vampire influenced country with lesser vampires running covens throughout it. The people of Syconia see Vampire's as race in which coexistence is more than possible. They understand the vampire's need to feed and at times enjoy being fed on. Although vampires lived in coexistence with their human brethren, they had no senior vampire lord to lead them. For thousands of years the lands of Syconia were visited by the vampire lords of old. Those lords insured the peaceful coexistence was not only possible but intact at all times.

Shortly after the liberation of Sycon's lands and its imperialism, Emperor Bazavier was approached by Lyric, the first vampire himself. After their meeting, Bazavier went through the motions of preparing his country for the coming storm. The High Priest's of the Apocalypse were about to live up to their calling. The vampire god Acuma was to be risen from his slumber. Sycon unveiled the banners of its new alliance; the New Blood Alliance. This alliance was a unified body of vampire supporting nations. As tribute to Sycon's new friends, Sycon joined in on a worldwide assault to bring in the coming of a new age; the second age of the vampire.

When the High Priests of Apocalypse succeeded in their life-long goal, New Blood was unified in both church and state. Again, Bazavier visited by the Loracen king Lyric. But this time it was by Bazavier's request. Emperor Bazavier asked Lyric to gift him with vampirism so he could better lead his people in the service of New Blood. Lyric kindly obliged.

Since this time Sycon has been fighting alongside and defending its old friend Beckorone. Today their armies are deployed to Beckorone in its defense against the Empire of Coastaar. Emperor Bazavier was recently named general of the West Coastaar Theater of operations by New Bloods leader the Lord Director. Sycon lost the last engagement with the Empire's prized general Darklorth. However the Emperor does not see it as a loss. Since the conflicts conception, two of Coastaar's armies have been crippled by New Blood forces.
