The Realms / Tournaments of Artemis

23.12.2019

Some 17 years ago the Katasha of Grimloch presented the concept of the Huntress Guild. 10 years ago Kyntela of Rhiassa brought the concept back to life. The Guild aimed to improve the fighting prowess and presence of female warriors within the Realms. To that end a tournament was born to celebrate and encourage female combat, the Tournaments of Artemis.

The Tournaments of Artemis is a team event where teams lead by a Huntress of the Guild face off against one another in team and singles combat. A few weeks ago the eighth Tournaments of Artemis took place. Representative Sayeh of Sapphire Isle, Squire to the Knights of Blackwood took over for the King of Blackwood's squire leading her team after her went lame just before the tournament.

A Phoenix Amongst the Huntresses

It was an accident, the horse that Squire Rani rode lost it's footing on the ice and she was thrown from it, the horse a broken leg and Rani with a sore shoulder and concerns of trauma to her head.

The Knights of Blackwood had tasked her with organizing a team for the Huntress Tournaments that were to be held in the first week of the last month of the year. She carefully picked who would stand beside her, her Lord of Alonis, Sir Torolf, a man making his vigil of allegiance to Blackwood, Vee, and of course Lady Sayeh, also a squire of the Knights of Blackwood. Sir Tao, Duke of Clontarif would also be in attendance but only to stay at the sidelines a majority of the time due to his own injury to his shoulder.

And yet... here she was... broken and still far away. A squire of the King is a high honor, and there are few who can be an equal. To prove one's self as a huntress she has trained for this, and now mere hours before she is to lead her team to victory... she sends word for another squire to take her place and guide her team.

One can only imagine, in such a short notice, Lady Sayeh went from being a follower, a supporter, to suddenly being thrust into a role in battle. She has said, it was trial by fire, but she smiles after the fact now as she enjoys some wine.

There was a mix of feelings, nervousness and not feeling adequate enough against the other five huntresses that came to test their worth in battle. She said that the only thought in her mind was that she must do her best, that if anything, she must make Rani proud and keep her spirit strong. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses was key, knowing your opponents was too. For some Huntresses there was more style, more fun, and for some there was a desire for skill and calculated risk. On this occasion, she would be against Princess Cimone of Chimeron, who had been a Warlord for two kings before being given the title for her services. There was also Yppn, a fae folk she supposes judging by style of fighting. Aoife, a new comer from near Chimeron lands, but with great skill with swords. Charlotte from Rhiassa, though do not let her size fool you, she was not easy to fight against when you needed to have a shield. Then there was Bree, who was likely the hardest opponent of them all and bested Lady Sayeh many times.

There were many battles, some as a team, in which they were stronger, and other skills where fear and thought over ruled the thought to keep pushing. There were defeats in single combat that made things harder, and then planning and vision would prove more powerful, and victory would be found. Feeling tired was the hardest enemy of them all, a mind full of thoughts to keep going, but also wish that it was all over. They all took first place positions in challenges for combat, but in Sayeh's mind was the constant thought that this was all for Rani.

There were moments of pride, judgments and decisions Duke Tao would later tell her were not Rani's, but Sayeh's. It is still hard for her to see those these victories as her own as there is a great desire to stay humble still and not take away from Rani's honor. There is a looming question about how far would things had come if Rani had been there instead of her. Another thought also, what would have been if the members of the team had been her own choice.

In the end, Bree of Rhiassa took first, followed by Aoife, then Lady Sayeh, Princess Cimone, Charlotte, and lastly Yppn. A third place position, and at least a moment to look back and think that even this was a victory in some small way for her. Years ago, she would not have dreamed of taking third place in many things, she would have been last. She was not the best, but as always - she says - her greatest opponent is herself.

Bicolline / Charivari of the release of the University of Rouenbourg

02.12.2019

Charivari of the release of the University of Rouenbourg Charivari of the release of the University of Redbourg: or the art of consent and inclusive festivities: The University of Redbourg invited many gentes and mangens to come to participate in its festivities fall release 1019! The entrails of Limburg were open to those who attended for an evening of high-flying, which took place under the signs of joy and consent.

The Realms Embassy was able to send a few guild members to this function at the University, Sir Shean O'Quinnlin and two new members of The Realms Embassy Gawyn Darkhollow a blacksmith and ranger, and a Lady Rose. The Realms Embassy's main interrupter Gilgilad was also able to attend and help with some meetings they had planned as well.

The Realms Embassy secured a warm building owned by a close friend, the Guildmaster of the Colibrille, Ailsa. The two meetings were to discuss upcoming expeditions and exploration the Realms Embassy would undertake and to discuss some private matters for the Empire. Both meetings were handled well and matters were concluded with all partied being very happy.

After the meetings, the Realms Embassy returned to the University for Drinks and festivities.

Mythodea / Construction of "The Salty Stick"

02.12.2019

Mythodea / Construction of "The Salty Stick" Tavern: Construction of "The Salty Stick" Tavern and renovation of the Black Pier has begun and is expected to be completed by the spring of next year! A grand opening celebration, The First Night at the Salty Stick, will take place on opening night. The tavern is expected to be open throughout the day prior to the celebration to ensure that visitors and honored guests do no go parched as they wait. The Realms tournament, The Corsican Mug, will be hosted during the opening day of the tavern to entertain guests and the hosts.

At the Convent of the Elements, Summer of the Realms Year 1019, Marik Fulgrimso of the Embassy Guard voiced his interest in running a tavern. The suggestion was made by Dagger of Blackwood, the Leader of the East Blackwood Company, that he take over East Blackwood Company operations on the Black Pier. If Marik were to do this, he would first have to renovate the pier to optimize it for use. Without a steady flow of traffic from the river and land, the tavern would not be able to thrive. Marik agreed to the idea and took on the responsibility immediately after moving to Blackwood House in Drachenbrück Zweiwasser.

The Salty Stick

After Marik agreed to Dagger's terms, plans for a tavern began. Its name was taken from a jest that transpired during the East Blackwood Embassy's Grand Opening Reception. The name of, The Salty Stick, was chosen as a dedication to the person who aided in the name's discovery, Fia of the Bracar Keltoi. With that concept of the Salty Stick was born.

Marik Fulgrimso of the Embassy Guard has since overseen the renovation of the Black Pier optimizing it for more riverboats. The renovations have been completed allowing Marik to focus the East Blackwood Company's efforts on completing The Salty Stick tavern. Marik is optimistic and insures the East Blackwood Company and the registered guests for the First Night that everything will be ready come the day and night of celebration. Fia will be there for the dedication and we hope the Kutchergilde as well.

Zottelbärte Ale

The matter of financing and stocking the tavern was a clear concern when planning for the tavern's construction and business. During a meeting over the finalization of a trade contract with Ingra and Master Muriel, the dwarves came to an agreement with the East Blackwood Company. A large sum of Zottelbärte ale would be used as payment for the most recent contract made with the E.B.Co and would intern be used as the new tavern's primary ale. Zottlebärte Ale will be available for all guests of The Salty Stick.

Reception Wine List

This past summer the East Blackwood and Realms Embassy celebrated the opening of the Embassy at Grian Quihenya in the Western Seal. The Embassy hosted some 40 guests and provided them with light food, sweets, The Ambassador newspaper, and wine. Lots of wine. That same wine card will be offered at The Salty Stick.

Investment

The matter of financing the construction site remained. At first, the Groll family made an offer but their business practices proved to be of ill-repute and all business with the Groll's was ended. Later Dagger, the leader of the East Blackwood Company, met with the Kutchergilde to ask them if they would be interested in investing to which they agreed to pay up to 80% of the costs.

Kutscher Stammtisch

As the Kutschergilde helped finance the renovation of the Black Pier and the Construction of The Salty Stick tavern, Dagger of Blackwood saw it fit to offer a reserved area within The Salty Stick where the Kutscher would be served as honored guests.

Zweiwasser

With plans and investors in place, permission to build came next. Members of the East Blackwood Company spoke with Biricus, Zweiwasser's acting master of coin, to discuss terms. Later during a meeting with the Margrave Balor the Red of Zweiwasser, Dagger pitched the ongoing idea which was promptly accepted. Bricius was informed of the decision to which he requested written and drawn plans for construction as well as the company's method of financing the project.

Bicolline / Helloquins of the Empire vs Montfort of Andore

15.11.2019

Helloquins of the Empire versus Montfort of Andore: There are links, forged in war, that do not break down anymore. The bonds of the soldiers who shed their blood together, whose songs unite to defy the enemy, who advance side by side in the midst of chaos and death. The warriors of the Empire and the fighters of the Andore have forged such links over the years.

But the Andore and the Empire fight so often together that it is possible to ask the question: which of the two, after all, is the strongest? If these two nations were to tear each other apart, which standard would float at the end of the fight? The troops of Hellequins and Montfort will try to answer the question once and for all. A full day of military maneuvers involving both guilds and their allies has been decreed!

From the imperial griffin or the Andorian crown, who is most to fear? When the sun sets on the battlefield, then the Central Lands will know it.

Sir Shean, Sir Simon, Sir Tak, Rhoe and Gilgilad from The Realms Embassy attended to support the Empire and the Helloquins. The day began with a battle to see who would be the first to reach the other army's Ballista and destroy it. After a long battle, the Empire ballista was destroyed by one man who maneuvered past a strategic part of the line and killed took down the crew and the ballista with his poleaxe.

In Bicolline it is often said that "Whenever there is an early loss the prediction is that the battle will shift to that side that won." To spite this, the General of the Harlequins rallied the troops to inspire and boost the morale of the Empire where the Empire did not just win the next two engagements but the entire day as well.

Bicolline / Renowned Campaign - Vakten vs Ferrata Fidelis

08.11.2019

Renowned Campaign Between Vakten and Ferrata Fidelis: In late fall, a Military campaign on opposing two fronts, Vakten and Ferrata, during various combat scenarios took place. The lands of Bicolline offer several types of terrain, forest, plains, chasm, village, road, etc..

According to Sir Sean O'Quinnlin, a Guild Master in Bicolline, "the best way to resolve conflicts is to advance the intrigues of Bicolline to give a good dose of adrenaline to your fighters. Choose your camp well ... any action has repercussions in the lands of Bicolline."

Having other duties elsewhere, the Realms Embassy was only able to send two soldiers to this campaign to support their good friends Ferrata Fidelis. Nalydros Deocras of Gaddison, a veteran fighting man of the Riverhawk clan, and a rather new addition to the Realms Embassy, Gilgilad, a fierce fighting woman and one of the Embassy's interrupters. Embassy troops were able to help Ferrata Fidelis win the day and send the Vakten home with tears in their eyes.

Moringaard / Fall of Mor'tazz

10.10.2019

Early in the year, Sir Dagger, the Ambassador of Blackwood, and Don Anthem DeVigil attended a noble wedding as honored guests. Among the guests was a soldier who had been fighting a long and tiring campaign in lands of Moringaard. Sir Dagger listened to the man as he spoke at length about his torment and failings in the war in Moringaard. He claimed that they were not winning and could not win. Dagger, always one to disagree with the idea of finality, decided he would take what he learned and see for himself when the next chance arose. That chance came when returned from the royal Blackwood wedding.

The Ambassador Sir Dagger, members of the Embassy Guard and the East Blackwood Company entered first the Bahianische Reich and moved east to the contested lands of Moringaard. The group moved steadily toward the frontline war camps near Hohen Furth while avoiding soulless and Legio Mortis were able until they came upon the Camp of the Light which held the war council. Once there, the Ambassador and East Blackwood Company observed and asked questions about the state of the war and its leadership.

The leadership of the Living (Lager des Lichtes), non-orc, forces of the Bahianische Reich:

  • Graf Paulus von Wasserstein and his entourage: The group has been with the campaign in Moringaard for many years already with the Count leading the main war camp from time to time.
  • Lord Protector Magister Trevor Bjormolfson: Lord Protector Trevor is the Head of the Dependency Guild of Alchemists and is the liaison for all matters of alchemy, field research and for the description of ancient Moringaardic scriptures. Lord Trevor has been with the campaign since its conception five years ago.
  • The Elves, especially the Dragon Prince Skaleandris, Hathurion, and the Priestess Curoniel. Curoniel was not there this time
  • Magister Eisenhut: Eisenhut is a mechanic and the liaison for all matters concerning machines.
  • The fighters of the Valinar Order. Members of the Valinar Order wear a white cross on a black field.
  • Azadon and Eisenwölfe, Fianna, Ostarische Marine, Ordo Cru Rach (die Echsen) are also important groups among the Camp of the Light.

Orcs in Moringaard:

The Scût mor bashrak clan also made its presence known yet their goals where unclear. When the subject of orcs was brought up, one soldier of the Bahianisch forces spoke of them with disdain. The orcs had fought both the dead and the Bahianisch army. The problem was in finding a reason as to why they did this. When the question was asked the answer was simply, "they are orcs. What do you expect?"

In another conversation with the Count of Wasserstein, Wasserstein added that orcs do what orcs do. "fight and plunder. There are some that want to fight alongside the orcs against the dead but the orcs keep attacking the fighters of the light."

The forces of the Dead:

Legio Mortis: The Legio Mortis is an ever-present fighting force that seems to make up the bulk of the dead armies. The Legio march as strong and disciplined forces without remorse. They take the field, called from the plain of the dead, in red and black and march in often tight ranks. With various commands in a language unknown to most, they carry out the will of their masters.

The Legio soldier, like the other soldiers of the plane of the dead, is not mindless. They are intelligent and they speak when the mood strikes them. Generally one will hear them scream Mortis with a stern stoicism before they appear and or attack. When a Legio Mortis soldier falls its body disappears only to be returned to the plain of the living by the various dead Nekrologen who call them forth once again. It was this story of undying legions that brought the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Blackwood to Moringaard.

Eysenburg: Eysenburg is a faction within the lands of the dead. The Eysenburg forces are made up of a knightly order clad in gold. They followed Lazar before his fall at the hands of the living. Still, they appeared loyal to him and reportedly fought alongside the Legio Mortis after Lazar had been put to rest.

The Eysenburg force was led by Sir Vawn, the knight who fought in the last tournament where Lazar and his knights last competed. Sir Vawn had defeated the Bahianisch champions only to lose to his master in the end. The Eysenburg force on the field seemed to be a small point of curiosity among the soldiers of the war camps but their focus was primarily on the Fall of Mortis.

Verderber: The Verderber are different than that of the Legio Mortis or the Eysenburg Knights. They wear purple as their livery. It is believed that they perhaps follow the witch king Zul Mata as opposed to Mor'tazz. Little else is known by "The Ambassador" staff at this point about this third group of the dead.

Epidemiker: The fourth force of the dead are the Epidemiker. Little was learned about the Epidemiker from those the staff of "The Ambassador" questioned. They wear green in their heraldry and are known to mettle with disease and corruption.

Witch Kings

The witch kings reportedly rule over various regions of the plane of the dead. Sometimes they are allied and sometimes they are rivals.

Fall of Mor'tazz

Sir Dagger, the Ambassador of Blackwood and leader of the East Blackwood Company, met with Graf Paulus von Wasserstein as well as the elves during the campaign to discuss the state of the war. The general consensus was positive. The fighters of the light had destroyed Mor'tass with machines, one of which shot at Mor'tass for at least a day over and over.

The forces of the dead fought hard against cries of "Light back to Moringaard" in an attempt to stop the living from succeeding. Two companies of Legio Mortas assaulted the front lines of the Light while a company of Eisenburg attacked them from the rear. The attacks to the rear were complicated by the additions of the orcs who fought dead and living alike.

In the end, however, the forces of the dead failed to stop the Fighters of the Light from destroying Mor'tazz. As Mor'tazz fell, Lazar's wife, Vitalia thanked the living for their aid. As her speech came to an end the ominous voice of a young girl rank out over the field. It was the voice of Lazara, Lazar's daughter. Shortly after Lazara spoke she inherited the throne of Lazar and his position claiming to be the destiny of Moringaard. Time will tell how factual her claim was.

The Realms / Feast of Blackwood

27.09.2019

At the start of autumn, Realms Common Year 1019, Lady Jinx of Uffern was bound in holy matrimony, with the blessing of Edeone, to King Kerrel Kal'Amar Forester of Blackwood.

The ceremony took place in an amphitheater within the forests of Erowan. Lords, ladies, nobles, soldiers and merchants gathered to witness the union of Kerrel and Jinx and the crowning of a queen. Notable attendees to the ceremony were Lord Sir Shandar of Invictus, the strongest nation in the Realms, Lord Sir Malaki of Folkstone, Lord Sir Syruss of Neden, Lord Sir Elwin O'Bearikin of Stonewood, and, Warlord Cronin Barbaria of Voranis. Noticeably absent were the kings of Chimeron and Voranis.

The Wedding Ceremony

Duke Sir Tao Kang of Clontarf presided over the nuptials. He read from the Book of Blackwood as the king and queen to be stood side by side waiting for permission to seal their union with a kiss. Some of those in attendance wept, notably Lord Sir Syruss of Neden. As the marriage of the king to the new queen was concluded the two embraced one another. The prince of Blackwood, Sir Seagen, then stepped forward and crowned Lady Jinx with Prince Nigel's crown ceremoniously, the same crown he was crowned prince in.

Crowning of Queen Jinx

As the new queen of Blackwood was joined to her king, Lady Jinx was crowned ceremoniously with Prince Nigel's crown with Regent Matiya of Folkstone as her attendant at the conclusion of her wedding. At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, the King and Queen of Blackwood with their attendants left the amphitheater and walked to the great hall. A procession of lords, ladies, dignitaries, and other guests followed behind the royal family. Once inside the hall, the royal family and their attendants took their seats at the high table.

A large wooden box with a peacock painted on either end was then carried out before the high table. Prince Seagen requested that Queen Jinx step forward to receive her new crown. The box was opened to reveal a fine headpiece suited for royalty. The two crowns were exchanged between Prince and Queen and Prince Nigel's crown was returned to the box. Queen Jinx was then crowned with the new crown of the Queen of Blackwood.

Gift of a Crown

As Prince Nigel's crown has been used to ceremoniously crown the royalty of Blackwood, a new crown was needed for Blackwood's Crown Prince. With this in mind, Representative Sayeh and Ambassador Dagger searched Mythodea for over a year in search of something befitting a prince, and they found something. With all the gold the Embassy and Sapphire Isle could muster, a crown was purchased and hidden away in Sapphire Isle cotton to be presented to the prince during the Feast of Blackwood.

Ambassador Dagger and Representative Sayeh stood before those gathered during Blackwood Court. Dagger explained that Prince Seagen was indeed missing a crown and that that would need to be properly rectified. He then stood back and gave the floor to Lady Sayeh. Sayeh spoke of the smiths Leofortis who had crafted the crown before drawing it from its dark-blue slip and placing it upon the prince's head.

Knighting of Sir Dagger of Blackwood

As Blackwood Court neared a close, King Kerrel called the Knights of Blackwood to stand at the head of the hall. King Kerrel proclaimed that the Knights wished to recognize someone for deeds done in service to Blackwood and the Crown over the past several years. King Kerrel explained that no further explanations as to the exploits of person they wished to recognize were needed, as that person had been up to speak to the court twice already on that subject. Ambassador Dagger was then called to stand before his king, queen, prince and the gathered Knights of Blackwood.

King Kerrel then asked if the ambassador would accept the title of Knight of Blackwood and to uphold its tenants as one. Dagger, dumbfounded by the surprise stumbled through his words but did, indeed, agree. King Kerrel unraveled a knight's belt of the order and fastened it to Dagger's waits. The now, Sir Dagger, gave each knight a hug, as was custom, and then took his place beside the gathered Knights of Blackwood as one of them.

Diplomacy

Blackwood

Sir Dagger, the Ambassador of Blackwood, and Representative Sayeh presented the royal family with a stack of documents from everything from a land deed to trade proposals to individual contracts. The significance and meaning of each document were explained to include several stories about the various exploits of those who served Blackwood from far across the seas. Important presentations include, but were not limited to the land deeds of: Blackwood House and the Black Pier in Zweiwasser, the Embassy, Embassy compound and Embassy Guard Barracks in the Western Seal Capital and, the expanding East Blackwood Company Guild district in Copperdale; trade deals and trade alliances, diplomatic relations with various key figures of Mythodea and, the exploits of Eridan Crabsbane, Duke Beria, Varn of CrestGrath and the entire Embassy Guard.

Invictus

The great nation of Invictus attended the wedding, coronation, and feast led by their Lord, Sir Shandar. Sir Shandar was dressed in his finest purple while the rest of Invictus wore their usual red, some were in finery as well. All members of Invictus were respectful and pleasant to talk to especially Lord Sir Trent of Acoria who is also a Knight of Blackwood. Ambassador Dagger presented Sir Shandar with an issue of the "The Ambassador" newspaper.

Folkstone

The old and well-respected nation of Folkstone was also in attendance. Lord Sir Malaki was present along with other members of the nation including Regent Matiya who attended to Lady Jinx Uffern, the bride to be of the King of Kerrel of Blackwood. Many well-intentioned conversations were had with the various members of Folkstone.

Voranis

The Druid Kingdom of Voranis was present in force for the wedding however its Druid King was not. Warlord Cronin Barbaria was the ranking pack member present. Gaven the Green and Warlord Cronin Barbaria along with other pack members were instrumental in dealing with the issues that plagued Blackwood the nights leading up to the wedding.

Northern Alliance

The Northern Alliance attended. Elder Aryss Destevaul of the Northern Alliance, however, was not present. Gordon Lightfoot of the Northern Alliance, being a member of the King's Guard, was also present. Ambassador Dagger angered the Alliance over a dispute concerning seating for the Blackwood Court and Feast. It is the Embassy's hope that these tensions be eased in the future. Gordon Lightfoot, a member of the King's Guard, was made a member of the Royal Guard when the King's Guard was officially changed to not only protect the King but the royal family as well.

Neden

Lord Sir Syruss led the collective Neden nation in their attendance of the Royal Wedding and Coronation. Syruss was honored by the Knights of the Eternal Flame during Blackwood Court.

Stonewood

The Nation of Stonewood arrived in force as well, led by Lord Elwin O'Bearikin. They too paid their respects to the new Queen of Blackwood and the union of king and queen.

Sapphire Isle

Issues concerning Sapphire Isle were spoken of at length during the Feast of Blackwood. Aid supplies from the Mythodean Western Seal, Support from the East Blackwood Embassy Guard and Tuilli MacAengus were promised and sent. The East Blackwood Company will also establish a Realms Office on the Island which will include a detachment of Embassy Guard led by Slim of CrestGrath.

Squire Sayeh of Sapphire Isle, alongside Ambassador Dagger, presented a new crown to the Crown Prince of Blackwood, Sir Seagen.

Trade

At the Feast of Blackwood, Realms Common Year 1019, Ambassador Sir Dagger and Representative Sayeh met with the King, Queen, and Prince of Blackwood to discuss trade going east. The Kingdom of Blackwood will be supporting and persuing deepened trade with, at least, the Seehandelsgilde going forward.

Bicolline / Bataille de Bicolline

09.09.2019

The Realms Embassy continues to serve their general purpose, as an Exploration Guild, of hunting monsters to save the people of Bicolline from their blight. As they have been successful in assisting the various peoples of this land, lands and properties have been granted to the Embassy and its representatives. These lands also have to be defended and certain expectations are to be upheld as citizens and landowners.

The various nations of Bicolline are in an often state of conflict over disputes of land, ideology and pride. During the summer months those conflicts tend to break out into large maneuvers. During this time both military assistance and assistance in hunting various beasts is often requested of the Realms Embassy by its friends and allies. At the Purple Ball, Emperor Karl requested that the Realms Embassy field a force to assist the Empire in various matters of battle and the hunt.

Crushing Carcosa

During this past winter, the nation of Carcosa sank Imperial Ships during the winter months. At the same time, Carcosa claimed that the Empire stole ships of theirs. During high summer, Carcosa and the Empire tried their hands at vengeance against one another. The Empire called their allies, the Realms Embassy, to assist.

War and hunting preparations had taken place a week prior to high summer where the Empire was planning to confront Carcosa. Many of the war camp's tents had already been set up and the raw structure of the Realms Embassy was in place prior to the arrival of the advanced party. The advanced team arrived in Bicolline a day before the main body to complete whatever construction was necessary. The main body of the Realms Embassy arrived the next day.

The start of the week would see the Realms Embassy's battle on the planes of Bicolline so the night before there is a council meeting to discuss the battle plans. The Realms Embassy deployed from the Ragnarok camp in support of the imperial province of Riksward against the Corcosa province of Eaux-Noirus at just past high noon. The battle started in the early to midafternoon when the Carcosan army appeared on the field. The battle was an easy massacre for the Empire as Carcosa's forces were demolished.

Dinner with Cavaliers du Bouc

In the following days Sir Shean, the Guild Master of the Realms Embassy, was invited, and permitted to bring a guest, to a dinner with new neighbors of the Realms Embassy Camp, the Cavaliers du Bouc. Culrick was Sir Shean's plus one, a thank you for his assistance in building the war camp. Dinner started with some hors d'oeuvres and cheese some beers and cyders. There was music and a magician whose sleight of hand was very good. He was able to make card ropes and objects do things one might never have believed possible.

The main course was a lovely roast chicken, sausages cooked in a maple sauce, Potatoes, stuffing and a nice Gravy. The Realms Embassy provided a cake for. Great Evening and Great Dinner!

Rumors of Terres de Sud and Haldorph

By the middle of the week, rumors started to circulate about Terres de Sud and Haldorph. The following day the Haldorph's army was set to face Andore with all each side can muster. The rumors were that no matter the outcome of the battle, the King of Haldorph, Agustus, would be removed as king and King Rathan of Terres de Sud would be stepping down as King. After some investigation, it appears that both rumors may be true but might not actually be happening until the Purple Ball in March.

Andore claims victory over Haldorph on Thorsday

At a battle on Thorsday, Haldorph was Crushed by the Andore army under the Prince of Andore with the assistance of the Realms Embassy easily. The prince had asked Sir Shean personally if the Embassy to field on his side. The fight inside the fort is so thick it is hard to see through the dust there is smoke from something. A good, hard fight but still an easy win even being outnumbered a bit. Thursday night is Thorsday so Blue is a favored color for this Human God Blue is a hard color to find in nice clothing. It is too dark or too light of a blue never the right blue.

Gorgon Slaying

A messenger arrived at the Realms Embassy camp and relayed that they were requested to send five men to explore a crypt where hostile creatures would be expected. Sir Shean of the Realms Embassy placed the Baron Diamond of Bancroft, also of the Realms Embassy, in charge of the expedition. T'manicus, Rio and two others formed his team.

When the Realms Embassy team entered the crypt, they fought many beasts. As they worked their way deeper in, the came across a gorgon and tried to fight around it while avoiding eye contact. Eventually, however, the Realms Embassy was able to kill the creature and search the ruins. The head of the gorgon was taken to be preserved with the aid of those who deal in such delicate matters.

Plans for the Grand Battle

The end of the week during the high summer campaign sees lots of war meetings as the weekend proves to be the final and largest maneuvers before most nations and guilds head back to their lands to lick their wounds, rebuild or to enjoy the spoils of war. During the meetings the Realms Embassy attended, the upcoming grand battle was explained to have impossible checkpoints. The situation was described as a lose lose. In the described situation, there would likely be no way for the forces that the Realms Embassy support to win. The area of the battle was filled with tight spots and ditches making defense near impossible. The councils convened and tactics were discussed but there was a general consensus that the battle would be lost.

Performances

Thorsday evening had "Les Murènes" as the music in oldtown. It is said that Les Murènes is the second-best band by some and some say it is the best. Les Murènes write a lot of their own songs but are a pirate band. It is not for everyone so some, like Sir Shean, prefer The Swindlers. The Swindlers played during the last night of the campaign week. According to Sir Shean the Guild Master of the Realms Embassy, that night saw the Best performance of the campaign "The Swindlers."

The Grand Battle

The morning of the Grand Battle was a scramble. The Realms Embassy fielded for the imperial province of Bryas under general Kronin against the Kaft province of Derzat. The Realms Embassy departed at noon and marched a considerable distance before reaching the location they are to defend. There they waited for what felt like forever before the attacking army finally appeared. The enemy was everyone one could look. The Empire and Realms Embassy were incredibly outnumbered, and the bottlenecked areas of the defensive location were massively in the favor of the enemy.

The imperial line coved what they could. Part of the line, Skaal, and co. and a Ragnarok light squad was sent off to skirmish in the field and they did well there. The Realms Embassy filled in parts of the Ragnarok line, but the difference of the numbers was not even close compared with the enemy. There were cannons and some monsters that were just destroying parts of the battle lines.

It is a loss for the Empire, the Realms Embassy and their allies that day but not for the overall campaign. Even with major loss during the Grand Battle, the Empire still came out on top throughout the overall campaign.

The night after the final battle of the high summer campaign is an evening of purging anything left in one's kegs, bottles, food stores, etc... Phoenix fest is in Old Town. As the Realms Embassy sat around their fires cooking up the last of the bacon, they were joined by some new guests. A great night was had and new friends were made.

The following day, the Realms Embassy packed their camp and departed before lunch the ships to head home. But, with conflicts left unresolved, the Realms Embassy would be back soon.

Mythodea / Summer Campaign

12.08.2019

In 17 Jahre n.d.E., the East Blackwood and Realms Embassy deployed to the ruined city of Methraton Thul to lend support to both Margrave Balor the Red of Zweiwasser and the Western Seal and to secure relations and lines of trade throughout Mythodea for the future. East Blackwood contributed a lot this year to the war effort. Eridan Swiftblade became Eridan Crabsbane when he killed the Crab of the pestilence in a duel. Eridan and Reginald fought in the arena for Ignis and earned powered stones from the temple next to it which were helpful in a number of areas. Duke Beria gathered a team and mapped the catacombs under Methraton Thul. Most importantly, East Blackwood was the fist of shields that parted the seas of allies and enemy alike making way for Balor and the aspect representatives to kill the Episcorpa.

Diplomacy

Realm of Roses

Margrave Balor Zweiwasser

Earlier in the year, the Kingdom of Blackwood's representatives in Mythodea pledged support to Margrave Balor the Red of Zweiwasser. Part of that support was provided during this year's Summer Campaign.

Commander Anthem and Captain Varn brought the Embassy Guard to the Zweiwasser camp to offer East Blackwood's support to Balor the Red. Reginald and Eridan of the Embassy Guard took up missions fighting in the Ignis Temple Arena where they earned powered stones. Those stones were instrumental in countless other tasks throughout Methraton Thul during the Campaign. Eridan's efforts also led him to become a champion where he eventually became one of the five warriors who would face the Crab of the Pestilence in the arena in a duel to the death. Eridan was successful in slaying the beast but only after Balor was injured, two champions of the Realm of Roses fell and Flamebrood Cordovon of the Blutpackt Flamebrood was ordered not to fight by his High King. More on this story below.

Commander Anthem and Captain Varn were later asked by Margrave Balor to be his shield when he went onto the fields surrounding Methraton Thul to hunt the Episcorpa. When the time came, Captain Varn formed a fist of shields out of East Blackwood, Zweiwasser and the BlutWall and led the line while Anthem directed from behind mainly focusing on dangers that would assault the line from the sides. East Blackwood under Anthem and Varn's direction brought Balor and the other aspect representatives to Episcorpa where they were finally able to fell her in combat. More on this story below.

East Blackwood spent two days during the campaign to Methraton Thul directly supporting Margrave Balor the Red, Flamebrood on his missions and on missions where Balor himself could not personally take part.

Balor for Archon of Thorns!

Western Seal

Kura'Assil and the West

During the Spring Campaign to Kahl'hatra, Ambassador Dagger and the Embassy Guard met with Connel, now Prince Connel of the West, and the Kura'assil to discuss their future training plans. The Embassy Guard would soon be barracked in the same part of the capital city of the Western Seal, Grian Quihenya, as the Kura'assil. Between the Spring and Summer Campaigns, the East Blackwood Company had a mission that required the full force of the Embassy Guard elsewhere meaning this training had yet to take place. So, during the Summer Campaign, the Embassy Guard made sure to speak with and support both the Kura'Assil and the Western Seal.

By chance, on the day that six warriors of the Embassy Guard including the Ambassador himself had visited the Western camps, a mission back to the lands of the West was announced. A new enemy had begun ravaging the coasts of the Western Seal, the Skargen. The West, their allies and the Blutpackt would embark on a mission to stop them. With the support of the Nyame of the West, some four hundred and fifty fighting men and women were able to pass through a large Aeris Portal into the West and with the strength of the High Priestess of the Naldar the host would be able to return.

East Blackwood formed up with only six but six was better than nothing. Commander Anthem, Captain Varn, Ambassador Dagger, Reginald, Annabel, and Beria took to the line. In the initial charge, Varn was heavily injured as he had not been sufficiently prepared for the battle beforehand. Then, the entire right flank of the allied battle line broke when facing the might of the Skargen army. That left the five remaining fighters of East Blackwood at the far right. Soldiers of the support ranks behind the front line moved to hold the right long enough to allow the mainlines to reform. During that action, Reginald was also heavily injured. Dagger sent Reginald to find a healer and fell back with the Western Line.

As the battle continued to progress, the allied line fell further and further back until its broken remains held a slightly raised ridge of trees. The trees seemed to help fill in the gaps but even then Dagger found himself on the front with only one other warrior between two trees were twenty could have fit. The Ambassador was also not very healthy as he too had sustained heavy injuries as he fell back. Commander Anthem's healing potions were the only thing keeping the old soldier in the fight.

Eventually, Reginald was strong enough to rejoin the battle. Around this time, Commander Anthem ran out of arrows and decided to run down a line of Skargen archers on his own. He cut several down before returning to the line. At one point the Skargen attempted to take Ambassador Dagger for his blood. Dagger fought a duel against a Skargen warrior, won and attempted to capture the fallen but failed without needed aid to drag the body back.

The Western Marshal, Theo, gathered the remaining strength of the West and performed a flanking action from the left which caught the Skargen off guard and quickly rolled them up winning the battle in favor of the West. With that, the allied force limped back through the portal to their respective war camps. East Blackwood stayed with the West for a while licking their wounds before they too returned to their Camp.

The Banner of Silence

Though the attempt had been made to present gifts and words to the Banner of Silence earlier during the campaign, Ambassador Dagger had not managed to find the Baroness Eflama de Boisvert in her own camp. Instead, he found her at the end of the campaign in the war camp Viribus Unitas of the North. Ambassador Dagger and Commander Anthem de Vigil presented her with two gifts.

Blackwood Token: The first gift presented was the promise of aid and support on behalf of the Kingdom of Blackwood for her and her people. The token that was gifted represented that promise. Ambassador Dagger will explain that promise to the King of Blackwood at his wedding in a little over a month's time.

Coin of the Realm 997:To thank the baroness for her support and friendship and as a show of high respect, Ambassador Dagger gifted Baroness Eflama de Boisvert the Coin of the Realm 997. Dagger uses the coin as a gift to those he respects the most and as a thank you for their work, support, friendship, and family.

Free Cities and Märkischer Bund
Wedding of Xykara Jamen AlDuara Alfannan and Selim Achat al Dahab Duacha al`fanan of the Künstlergilde

Ambassador Dagger was invited to the Wedding of Xykara Jamen AlDuara Alfannan and Sven of the Künstlergilde during this year's summer campaign in Mythodea. Although there was business to be had with the Künstlergilde, Ambassador Dagger and East Blackwood Embassy attended as invited guests of the wedding. The wedding itself had to be missed due to prior engagements but the East Blackwood procession was present for the reception after.

To commemorate the union, the Embassy opted to sing songs for the newlywed couple. To connect the evening with the target of the prior engagement, the Embassy sang the song "Anthem and the Ladder." East Blackwood enjoyed an hour or so of the festivities before eventually returning to their camp for the night.

Märkischer Bund

Through the friendship of Commander Anthem and through being located in the Aufbruch, Lorenzo di Cusano of the Märkischer Bund spent a lot of time at the East Blackwood camp during the Summer Campaign. Toward the end of the campaign, Lorenzo di Cusano returned to the camp with a list and offered Blackwood land within the Märkischer Bund. The offer seemed abrupt and made little sense to the Embassy. Lorenzo di Cusano Explained that he and Noam had been the first to fully explore the land years ago and were instrumental in the founding of the Freyenmark. The leader of the mercenaries camp, Sturmhart Eisenkeil, took control of the new land after its founding and was named Principal of the Freyenmark.

During Sturmhart's reign, Noam and Lorenzo were eventually pushed out of their own home. After Sturmhart's execution for treason and crimes against Mythodea a few years ago, the Freyenmark slowly disbanded. The remainder of its inhabitants reformed the land renaming it the Märkischer Bund. Noam and Lorenzo were once again welcome to return home.

Due to their history as having founded the region years ago, Noam and Lorenzo were granted the lands of Scholle Trollfels however they were in need of settlers. As the Kingdom of Blackwood and the East Blackwood Company were also looking to settle land for the production of resources, it made sense to agree to such a deal if there were not specific bonds and or strings attached. With the stipulation that there would be no special stipulations, Ambassador Dagger of Blackwood signed Lorenzo di Cusano' Trollfels charter.

Trade

River Trade in the Realm of Roses

The East Blackwood Company continues to attempt to improve their trade incomes on the Blauersturm River within the Realm of Roses. Dagger met with a merchant from Schönweiler to speak about trade possibilities. The E.B.Co also spoke with the Jarnsfolk from further up the river in Zweiwasser about furthering their trade relationship. An agreement was made concerning support for the Salty Stick Tavern which is being constructed on the Black Pier just south of Drachenbruch, Zweiwasser.

Events

Episcorpa

Throughout the latter half of the Summer Campaign, East Blackwood continued to visit the Zweiwasser Camp and offer their support. On the final day of the campaign, East Blackwood was asked to support Balor directly when he took the field once more to hunt Episcorpa. Eager to provide the promised support, Commander Anthem and Captain Varn agreed. When the time came, Anthem, Varn, Dagger, Eridan, Medina, Annabel, Beria and Reginald formed up with three warriors of the Blutwall behind the Discoveror's Banner palisade and waited for the arrival of Margrave Balor the Red.

When Balor arrived, Antonias of the Realm of Roses explained the mission plan to Commander Anthem and Captain Varn. Blackwood would form the main shield wall with the support of the Jarnsfolk which would serve to hide the representatives of the aspects and the elementally charged weapons and their wielders which were on hand. Blackwood was to move slowly up the field with their shields locked, never breaking. Once close enough, the shields would part just enough to allow the representatives of the aspects, such as Balor and Sylvana, and the elemental weapons through to fight Episcorpa and hopefully destroy her for good. Blackwood was charged with getting Balor, the aspects and the weapons to Episcorpa safely and protecting them from other enemies while they fought.

East Blackwood, the Blutwall and the Jarnsfolk pushed up the field of battle fighting their way through slowly until the reached Episcorpa's last line of defense, the Loyals of the Undeadflesh. The mission coordinator asked Captain Varn if East Blackwood was strong enough to push through the knights of the undead flesh. His response, "we can try." And try they did.

Though some of the shields of the wall were heavily damaged, the line indeed managed to push through. As they did the call came from the rear to let the aspects and weapons through. Balor, Sylvana Waffenmeisterin Ignis and the other representatives of the aspects and weapon wielders pushed through to Episcorpa felling the priests around her. The fight to destroy Episcorpa raged on while the fist of shields who got them there fought to handle other threats while avoiding siege weapon fire. Undead Flesh and Skargen would continue to threaten the champions who faced Episcorpa but Blackwood, the Blutwall and the Jarnsfolk managed to keep the majority of those threats at bay. Finally, Episcorpa was struck down and died in a cloud of billowing-black smoke. Balor was victorious.

Crabsbane

As the challenges in the arena and at the Ignis Temple continued, Eridan Swiftblade eventually became one of the five champions who would face the great-crab beast of the Pestilence. Balor was also among those warriors. Margrave Balor was the first to fight. He fought well but sustained heavy injuries for his efforts and did not manage to kill the crab. The next two warriors that followed, Morisca and Hablo of the Realm of Roses, fell fighting and shall be remembered for their bravery and heroism. After Morisca and Hablo's honorable sacrifice, Cordovon, who should have been the fourth champion, withdrew from his duel upon the orders of his high king. This caused tension between the Realm of Roses and the Blutpakt, part of which played out at the arena, but there was still a beast to be put to rest and now only one champion left to do it.

That left Eridan Swiftblade, the Champion of the Embassy Guard, as the fifth and final challenger. If he failed then the Pestilence Crab would live and continue to tear into the people of Mythodea for years to come. Ambassador Dagger spoke to him privately offering some final words of encouragement just before his champion took to the sands of the arena. Eridan took the field and those gathered cheered their support. With a great-war hammer in hand, Eridan danced around the crab as if he were a man fifteen years his junior.

Eridan rained hammer blows down on the dreaded beast until the fight finally left it. A cheer erupted after in support of Eridan and as a cry of victory. The herald announced that Eridan had entered the duel as Eridan Swiftblade but from that day forward would be forever known as Eridan Crabsbane. For the duration of the campaign, when Eridan walked by those who knew of the deed they bowed in respect or cheered his name, Crabsbane, Crabsbane, Crabsbane!

Catacombs of Methraton Thul

Graf Beria de Eline of Dalag'Nor, Merchant of the East Blackwood Company and, by chance of signature, Guardsman of the Embassy Guard gathered a team to enter the catacombs of Methraton Thul. Beria's team managed to completely map the first and second levels of the catacombs properly and efficiently before anyone else could. For his efforts, a lady of the East arrived at the East Blackwood Camp later during the campaign to thank Beria for his efforts.

Champions for the Arena

Ambassador Dagger sent Commander Anthem and Captain Varn with the Embassy Guard to offer support to Balor. After fighters were sent to the arena at the Temple of Ignis where warriors fought and earned stones of power which were vital to several missions around the ruined city where the armies of the Elements made their camps. Eridan Swiftblade, the Champion of the Guard, and Reginald of the Embassy Guard both participated in earning several stones throughout the day.

Thank you Anthem

During the Summer Campaign to Methraton Thul, Ambassador Dagger, East Blackwood, the Fjordstädte Bund, and the Aufbruch hosted a special party in Anthem's name. The gathering was to thank Commander Anthem for his loyalties, years of service, friendship, and brotherhood. During the party, Anthem was presented with a song written about him, a Coin of the Realm, many other gifts as well as a dancing bard troupe. Anthem is not a heavy drinker. He tends to enjoy his alcohol rather than consume it in mass. This party was different. This celebration encouraged the less responsible side of the Guard Commander to come out and enjoy itself.

Anthem and the Ladder

He can string a bow of five hundred pounds

and knock and draw a hundred rounds

He can shoot a flee, from a thousand feet

Just take away that ladder

Yes, he finally found a reason

He would need to excuse

He's got these splinters in his hands

It's like tying a noose

Yes, he finally found a reason

he would need to excuse

He's got these splinters in his hands

It's like typing a noose

Tyling a noose

He can take ten yards, of cow hide

Cut it into shields of a laminar size

Tie it together and form a coat of leather

Be sure you hide that ladder

Yes, he finally found a reason

He would need to excuse

He's got these splinters in his hands

It's like tying a noose

Yes, he finally found a reason

he would need to excuse

He's got these splinters in his hands

It's like typing a noose

Tyling a noose

He can cut a base of herbs, with sharpened knives

One mistake and you're bound to get hives

He can mix and brew, an apothic stew

But don't you show him that ladder

Yes, he finally found a reason

He would need to excuse

He's got these splinters in his hands

It's like tying a noose

Yes, he finally found a reason

he would need to excuse

He's got these splinters in his hands

It's like typing a noose

Tyling a noose

He can take a hammer to a battered thing

Bring the steel down, let the anvil sing

He can take a maul to repair it all

Just don't you build a ladder

Yes, he finally found a reason

He would need to excuse

He's got these splinters in his hands

It's like tying a noose

Yes, he finally found a reason

he would need to excuse

He's got these splinters in his hands

It's like typing a noose

Tying a noose

Don't you show him that ladder

Tournament

Champion of the Guard

Ambassador Dagger and Representative Djako hosted the first Champion of the Guard Tournament to decide the first Champion of the Guard. The Champion of the Guard would be an honorary title that would lock the guardsman or woman into Guard service for a year but it also offered a champion's purse, a high earnings rate and the responsibility of training other Guard members to help improve the guard's overall martial skill.

Eleven warriors took to the grassy knoll before the East Blackwood and Realms camp in the city of Methraton Thul where they participated in three combat disciplines. Round One was a single weapon. Round Two was "weapon and shield." Round three was any weapon combo. Warriors had their names drawn from a helm to decide matchups. At the end of each round, points were awarded for first second and third place. The top four point earners were invited back for a fourth-round to decide who the Champion of the Guard would be.

Warriors:

Single Weapon

Eridan defeated Reginald to take first place in the Single Weapon

Weapon and Shield

Reginald defeated Beria for first place in the Weapon and Shield

Any Weapon

Anthem defeated Einar pushing Einar into third and then defeated Byr for first.

Semi-Final

Anthem defeated Beria to earn his spot in the semi-final. That placed Anthem, Byr, Reginald, and Eridan in that event. Eridan defeated Reginald moving to the Final and Anthem defeated Byr moving to the Final to decide the Champion of the Guard. At the end of the Semi-Final, Reginald fought Byr and won for third in the overall Champion of the Guard Tournament.

Final

The final two warriors to compete for the title of Champion of the Guard were Anthem and Eridan. Eridan fought with a sword and shield while Anthem fought with a halberd, buckler and throwing knife. For the final, there was a call for bets. All but one person who placed a bet on Anthem. Ambassador Dagger bet on Eridan. After the bets were placed, the Final took place.

Champion

After a grueling competition, Eridan Swiftblade was named, Champion of the Guard. To that end, he was granted a soap from the Tournament's Sponsor. He was also given the champion's blade and, after the Ambassador collected the bets, a champion's purse. Second place, Anthem, and Third Place, Reginald.

Your new Champion of the Guard, Eridan Swiftblade!

Mythodea / The Duel with Sir Valdemar Part 1

11.08.2019

The Duel with Sir Valdemar Part 1

Two years ago at the Clashing on Armoured Plates Tournament, Dagger faced off in the finals for the single weapon event. Dagger, Liandra zu Wolfenau's personal sword for hire, had decimated the competition the day before while Sir Valdemar had worked his way up barely edging his way through difficult fight after difficult fight. The single weapon was not the only discipline that the two had fought in leading up to the finals on the second day. Dagger had fought through the any-weapon and the weapon and shield disciplines placing himself, not only in the finals for single-weapon but also for the any-weapon. Sir Valdemar had competed in other disciplines as well allowing him to secure a few of the left-over points.

Naturally, a whole day of victories to the crowd's elation was cause to celibate. Dagger was invited to a party at the chaos camp by a lovely Slaaneshi artist. The soldier and sellsword went to the party with a gift and enjoyed a night of drink, fun and otherworldly entertainment... Simply put, Dagger was rather tired the next day and he had also harmed his eyes in the middle of the night. The drink he had drunk had been of considerable volume as well leaving him hardly able to stand let alone fight the next day. Of course, Sir Valdemar did not have these issues. No Sir Valdemar had gotten himself an early night's rest and was as fit as a man could be the following morn.

Dagger Stumbled onto the field just before he was to take on the valiant, yet celibate, Sir Valdemar. Sir Valdemar took the field wearing a red surcoat over freshly-shined plate armor, emblazoned with three golden lions. Dagger... Dagger stumbled onto the field wearing the scraps of armor he owned with his eyes partly covered, an injured knee and the worst headache a person could possibly have...

Dagger staggered a few steps before touching blades to start the final bought of the single weapon event. Steel clashed against steel, slashes were dodged, thrusts were parried and yet risks taken. The final was a first to six hits and Dagger was 2 to 2 against the Knight of the Three Lions. Every time Dagger had attempted to strike the knight, the knight seemed to have an answer. When finally Dagger attempted to duck his sword under Sir Valdemar's blade for a feinted strick he learned the dreaded truth! Sir Valdemar was left-handed...

2 to 3. Dagger stood now one point behind with half an eye blind. The solder, the mercenary had taken half the fight to work out that his opponent, the bragging duelist Sir Valdemar, had been, that whole time, fighting with his left hand. If not for the drink having already done it, that knowledge would have turned Dagger's world upside down. Yet that was the moment where Dagger had to turn the fight around, somehow. He knew what to do. He would move to Sir Valdemar's left and target the knight's sword arm. 3 to 4.

Dagger pressed but as he did the Knight, the very sober and clear-headed, well-fed and prepared Sir Valdemar timed his own hits to land when Dagger delivered his. The knight needed only to maintain a one-point lead to win. And so he did with the aid of one of the marshals of the duel who acted as though he had not seen one of Dagger's blows land. The marshal hated Dagger of course. 4 to 5.

Now, this story continues in the most epic of ways. Sir Valdemar was, of course, no fool. He knew the threat before him even in its weakened less sober state. Sir Valdemar was also a prideful man and would not have his honor besmirched by a dirty sell-sword such as Dagger of Blackwood.

...But to hear the rest of that story, you will have to find East Blackwood during their travels. Varn of CrestGrath, Dagger of Blackwood and the rest of the retinue will be happy to tell you the very true story of the Duel with Sir Valdemar, in song.

To Be Continued...

The Realms / Blackwood Tournaments by Sayeh

17.07.2019

For many years, the Kingdom of Blackwood within the Realms have hosted an annual tournament. This year not only was the expected festivities and competitions to be had but it was also an event to host the respective Doe and Stag Parties for the King and Queen to Be of Blackwood. Sayeh of Sapphire Isle was in attendance as she had rushed back to the Realms after hearing of a siege of one of the Blackwood provinces several weeks prior. Also in attendance was Sir Shean the Lord of Creathorne and the Guild Master of the Realms Embassy along with many other members of the Realms Embassy.

Tournaments of Blackwood;

Stags vs. Does

In celebration of their engagement, His Majesty, King Kerrell, and his future bride, Lady Jinx, celebrated their recent engagement by setting a match to determine the strongest men to lead two teams, one that would fight for His Majesty "The Stags", and one that would fight for His lady, "The Does". Those competing in a variety of tournaments would earn points for their team. Members were selected by either His Majesty or Lady Jinx, and throughout the two days each team was put through their paces in determining their level of skill and worth.

Court was held in the middle of the festivities, where Lady Jinx announced that she would pass on her position as First Knight in the Knights of Blackwood, to Lord Torolf of Alonis acting as the Knight Commander's conscience.

The Knights of the Realms Commander, Sir Aeston of Rhiassa also came forward to ask for his fellow knights to join him before everyone...

And called, to His Royal Highness, Prince Seagan to join them. Words of the Prince's deeds and honor to the Realm were told, and tears of pride and joy were shed, as Prince Seagan was brought into the Knight of the Realms, and all of Blackwood rejoiced.

A great feast was held with a roasted pig presented to the many guests, and tournaments continued the following day, proving Lady Jinx was victorious in her selections for The Does. His Majesty stood proud knowing His kingdom will have a strong queen to guide them at his side.

Bicolline / The Quest by Sir Shean

11.07.2019

About a month ago the Realms Embassy received this letter calling them to arms:

Les jeux de Longueperche

Monseigneur, Madam,

Hereby, I invite you and your guild of explorers to attend a grand event - or should I say the most sublime event! - and which will surely change the course of your existence. For better or for worse, we shall see... Before going any further, let me introduce myself. I have the honor to be Thomas Longueperche, captain of the famous company of La Fouine Pugnace. Our exploits are numerous and would make the most experimented adventurers drool with envy. But our greatest discovery is the following:

We have recently found a way to enter the Crypte des Mille Piques (Crypt of the Thousand Pikes). This sparks your curiosity, doesn't it? Unless you do not know what this is? In that case, allow me to give you a brief history lesson: Centuries ago, Emperor Notger declared war on Queen Malika of Nasgaroth. This war lasted for centuries, but history remembers one great battle:

The one where one thousand Imperial Guard pikemen fought tens of thousands of dark elves for days to protect their Emperor. At the end of this event, the butchered remains of the fighters were buried in a crypt. But of what interest is this hole for brilliant explorers like La Fouine Pugnace, will you say? This place does not only contain old rusty spears. What lies at the bottom of this crypt is a mystery to us all! A mystery, so dangerous that the last lord who entered the crypt, a noble of little importance, became crazy. So crazy that he had to take early retirement from his duties - and his life.

Since that tragic event, the entrance to the crypt is guarded and closed to all. That's why we have decided to look for a way to access it! And this is where, monseigneur, madame, you come in to help. The company of La Fouine Pugnace is offering the chance to a few guilds of explorers to accompany us in this exciting adventure. We, therefore, invite you to the very first - and the only - edition of the Longueperche Games! We will receive you in the domain of des Marchands in Ozame, where under the watchful eye of my company, groups of explorers will face each other in this very interesting- and perhaps slightly violent- competition. Needless to say, only the best guilds will ultimately receive the privilege of discovering the treasures of the Crypte des Mille-Piques...

Looking forward to seeing you there,

Best regards.

Thomas Longueperche

Captain of the Company de la Fouine Pugnace

The quest had many facets. The Realms Embassy met people from Company de la Fouine Pugnace that invited them. They had the Realms Embassy find things to prove themselves, potion parts mainly... They often told the Realms Embassy they were the best explorers while sitting around as the Embassy went and found the requested items.

Sir Shean was able to assemble eleven people, not 15. The Realms Embassy do not yet know if they will be able to enter the aforementioned crypt. During the quest, however, Sir Shean reportedly killed a big monster by himself with a single sword...

A night at the tavern followed the exploration. The dinner was roast chicken and many side dishes of pasta, salads, and pastry. Sir Shean had a man meet with an occult guild about him and his men starting to learn magic. Sir Shean had a meeting with the Emperor and a large number of Empire diplomats where they discussed commerce and how the Kintzheim coin they Realms Embassy had minted will better the economy of the Empire. As the representative of the Realms Embassy, Sir Shean also met with the people governing the Sand City for the sultan about how the Embassy would be moving on the nuisances in that area the plan is to remove the four in the area where they are before the winter snows melt in the west.

Mythodea / Convent of the Elements by Dagger and Sayeh

01.07.2019

Every year the Mythodea Town of Holzbrüch hosts the Convent of the Elements and one major Mythodea region serves as guest host. This year the Western Seal were the guest hosts of the festival. The nobility, merchants, knights, chieftains and common folk gather in Bad Holzbrück for festivities, shops, games, politics, trade and much more. During this year's convent, the East Blackwood Embassy hosted a reception party for the opening of their Embassy in the Western Capital. That story below.

Diplomacy

Western Seal

During the Convent of the Elements, dignitaries, nobles, merchants and friends from all over Mythodea were invited to attend the reception for the grand opening of the East Blackwood Embassy. The new embassy is located within the Western Seal's capital of Grian Quihenya. The embassy will serve as the primary residence of Ambassador Dagger of Blackwood as well as a residence for guests, other Realms dignitaries and as a place of diplomacy and will serve as a deputation.

During the Grand Opening Reception, two-thirds of the invited parties were able to attend, most importantly members of the Western nobility, and many brought with them other parties of interest, squires or company members. The event opened on the second day of the Convent with Representative Djako Kaevh greeting guests at the Banner of Silence and East Blackwood Camp. The hostess of the event, Representative Sayeh the Baroness of Sapphire Isle, greeted guests after they had entered the camp. Ambassador Dagger explained to those gathered what was available to them during their stay, The Ambassador Newspaper, fruit, sweets, cheeses, breads, meats and five sorts of wine while Embassy Guards Marik and Varn served.

Dring the height of the social event, the Nyame of the West, Siobhán NíCharthaigh, Jean-Louis the Voice of the West and his bride to be Azela de Boisvert, and the Baroness Eflama de Boisvert were among the number of esteemed attendees. At the event's peak, Ambassador Dagger called for calm as the hostess, Sayeh, gave a speech thanking all of those who had attended on behalf of Blackwood's king and of the Embassy in Mythodea. She also announced that the King of Blackwood would be getting married in the fall to which those gathered offered their congratulations. Ambassador Dagger then presented a gift to Sayeh for her support of the Embassy in Mythodea since its conception before ending the overall proceedings with the Blackwood Song not too long after to close out an afternoon of wine and good company.

Jean-Louis the Voice of the West

During the Convent of the Elements (2019), Jean-Louis was among the invited guests to the Grand Opening Reception of the East Blackwood Embassy. A few kind words were said on his behalf during a speech and he was mentioned in the Mitrasperanische Herold by the Embassy as well. In the end, it was a futile attempt at diplomacy as rumor has it, the Voice of the West, Jean-Louis, still hates Ambassador Dagger.

Sayeh of Sapphire Isle, Representative of the East Blackwood Embassy was seen traveling with the Voice of the West to Holzbrüch as his guest.

Baroness Eflama de Boisvert and the Boisvert Family

At a dinner party in Grian Quihenya, Eflama and the family Boisvert had agreed to host the Embassy's opening party in their camp, the Banner of Silence. To simplify the event to come, the two camps merged making the world easier for both. This provided the Embassy staff and those of the Banner with time to get to know each other as the two lived together.

Connel of the Kura'Assil

In preparation for the Embassy's Grand Opening, the Embassy approached Connel the leader of the Kura'Assil and the brother of the Archon of the West. Connel was invaluable in helping find the various invitees on the invite lists. Later on during the Convent (2019), Connel informed Captain Varn of CrestGrath that he will no longer be the leader fo the Kura'Assil and instead someone else will step in to take that position. This is important as it means the training partner of the Embassy Guard is getting a new leader.

The Ris of the West

The Ris of Atlantas, Antador, Greifenhag, the Dotharians as well as the Lady of the Sphears, Knight Ragnar of Abhain Cuan, Barons Sal of Bangur and Liandra zu Woffenau were among those invited to the Grand Opening Reception of the East Blackwood Embassy. Many of which attended including the new Ris of Greifenhag and Atlantas.

Liandra zu Wolfenau and the Waffenmeister

A Champion Herold delivered two letters to the East Blackwood Embassy. The Ambassador's letter was an apology for the rude way in which the Embassy had been dismissed from the Xarann and Waffenmeister Camp during the Summer Campaign the year prior. It also contained an invitation to speak with the House Xarann and the Waffenemeister at their camp during the Convent of the Elements. Dagger visited the camp and spoke his piece. He agreed in the end that the matter was settled but the cold way in which even Liandra had treated him in that moment still cast his opinions of them into doubt. Not all members of Xarann and not all of the Champions are true friends of the Ambassador.

As a way of apology, Champion Herold Aurigraina presented both Ambassador Dagger and Representative Sayeh with gifts. The book was Dagger's gift and the box and its contents were Sayeh's. See below.

Realm of Roses

To commemorate the grand opening of the East Blackwood Embassy at Grian Quihenya, Sayeh of Sapphire Isle and the Dagger of Blackwood, Blackwood's Ambassador to Mythodea invited dignitaries, nobles, merchants and friends from all around Mythodea to a reception party during this year's convent of the Elements. Many members of the Court of Roses and Thorns were invited from among the number of those invited from the Realm yet only the nobility outside the court attended.

Just prior to this year's Convent of the Elements, the East Blackwood Embassy declared its support for the Margrave Balor the Red to become the new Archon of Thorns. Balor was among those invited to celebrate the opening of the East Blackwood Embassy and was one of the Rosen number who attended the party. Balor arrived with a silver platter holding two chalices as gifts for the hostess, Sayeh of Sapphire Isle, and for the Ambassador, Dagger of Blackwood.

Stordon von Zackenburg and Baron Fiete Münzer of Schönweiler also attended the East Blackwood Embassy Reception Party.

Märkischer Bund

Ronja Damotil, Former Chancellor of Knowledge of the Märkischer Bund, died during the Bluthatz earlier in the year leaving behind her father, Boromil Damotil. Representative Djako insisted, rightfully so, that the Embassy pay its respects to the father. The Embassy went to the Märkischer Bund camp at the Convent of the Elements and offered their condolences. Both Dagger and Djako had a few words and embraces to offer including a promise of support where needed. Together the group sat with Boromil "Bobo" Damotil for a while and broke bread with him.

Sapphire Isle and Blackwood

Upon arrival in the Western Seal, the Baroness Sayeh of Sapphire Isle was seen in the company of Ambassador Dagger of Blackwood and her fellow constituents. She made visits to the Baroness Eflama de Boisvert and her sisters, as well as with His Excellency, Jean-Louis, The Voice of the West.

At the gathering in Holzbrück, invitations were delivered requesting that some important partners and other influential persons make their appearance at a wine tasting party held in celebration of the Embassy of Blackwood. Here the Ambassador and fellow members of the East Blackwood Co. presented Sayeh with a model of her ship, The Jasmine, and performed for her a song. The party seemed to be a success with even the Nyame of the West finding time to attend.

During her stay, the Baroness presented Margrave Balor of Zweiwasser with a brass chain of office with many medallions with embossed suns to honor his faith in Ignis. This was a gift from the Kingdom of Blackwood for the opportunities that the Margrave had given to the Ambassador when first this endeavor began. It was also a sign of support for the Margrave as he makes his intentions known that he will be competing to become the next Archon of Thorns. Often in the morning, the Baroness was seen having breakfast with the Margrave and conversing.

The Baroness spent as much time as she could with her men of East Blackwood, often seen out with them at nights frequenting taverns or at other camps enjoying food, drink, or song. She was also seen in a meeting with the S.H.G with her new model ship and present at a contract signing with the Mitrasperanische Hanse.

She was last seen gathering up her items after the gathering, with the intentions of heading Northeast toward Zweiwasser with the Margrave and some of the men in East Blackwood.

Porto Leonis

Ulrich von Hochkammer of Porto Leonis met with Ambassador Dagger of Blackwood during the Convent of the Elements to discuss the issues the East Blackwood Embassy and E.B.Co had with Porto Leonis. Dagger explained the issues to include the first time he met with a Leonis dignitary and other issues that transpired after. Ulrich explained that there had been changes within the city to include their stand on trade and the Mitrasperanische Hanse. This prompted Dagger to present the East Blackwood Company's general offer. After further discussion, Ulrich and Dagger agreed to continue the conversation during the Summer Campaign.

Blutgard

Ing of the Bracar Keltoi, His Eminence Chattras and Fia of the Brakar Keltoi were invited to attend the reception to commemorate the opening of the East Blackwood Embassy in Grian Quihenya. Fia and Chattras were both able to attend and were welcomed fondly. Wine and refreshments were provided for them while they treated with the various assembled dignitaries, merchants and the staff of the Embassy including Ambassador Dagger and Representative Sayeh of Sapphire Isle. As the party wore down, Fia chose to stay behind and drink with the staff including the Ambassador. Plans to commemorate a tavern in Fia's name are now in motion.

Münzquell

After hearing the news of the choice presented the Münzquell which demanded they leave their homes or die, Ambassador Dagger still felt it respectful to invite his greatest supporter within the Münzquell, Fe'wae' Me'llinar Vite'z of the Leckerlis. Fe'wae' had spoken for Dagger during the first Pan Mythodean Trade Conferences, effectively supporting the East Blackwood Company's chances of assuming a leadership role in the Terra Tunnel repairs needed for that year's summer campaign. Fe'wae' was invited to attend a reception to commemorate the opening of the East Blackwood Embassy in Grian Quihenya. He brought his niece as his plus two.

Ad Astra

Se'amus O'Connor, Iuba Bajoran and Alayne Osfrydstochter were invited to attend a reception to commemorate the opening of the East Blackwood Embassy in Grian Quihenya. Iuba was the only Ad Astran able to attend but was welcomed fondly. Wine and refreshments were provided for them while they treated with the various assembled dignitaries, merchants and the staff of the Embassy including Ambassador Dagger and Representative Sayeh of Sapphire Isle. During the party, Ambassador Dagger spoke at length about potential trade relations between the East Blackwood Company and Ad Astra. Further meetings will have to take place in the future to discuss the matter further.

Trade

Ingra Trade Deal

During the Convent of the Elements, Realms Year 1019, the East Blackwood Company met with Ingra and Master Murial of the Eastern Seal to finalize a trade deal concerning the transportation of goods. With all E.B.Co resources in place and extra security forces ordered, the deal was closed with a large payment of ale and the standard fees.

Black Pier Construction

During the Convent of the Elements, Realms Year 1019, the E.B.Co discussed the opening of a tavern on the Black Pier, land that was granted the Company by Margrave Balor the Red of Zweiwasser. Once the concept was cleared, Marik of the Embassy Guard was named as harbormaster but only after the renovation of the Pier and the construction of the tavern. The idea was presented to Biricus of Zweiwasser and later to the margrave himself. All parties agreed, the E.B.Co must now draw up building plans and present the method of funding.

News of a rebellion in Zweiwasser reached the East Blackwood Company causing concern for the security of the Black Pier, an East Blackwood holding within the Margravate. Ambassador Dagger of Blackwood and Sayeh of Sapphire Isle traveled to Zweiwasser with two of their guards immediately following the Convent to attempt to deal with the potentially troublesome situation.

Sciminova and Gales Morgan

Since before the establishment of the East Blackwood Company, Dagger of Blackwood had worked for Lord Protector Glabius of Sciminova within Mythodea's Northern Seal. The Lord Protector has yet to pay his debt to Dagger but offered him an opportunity after meeting with him during the Convent of the Elements, Realms Year 1019. A Trade Kontor within Sciminovo was offered if the E.B.Co could complete a task. That task was completed within three hours of having received it.

Porto Leonis and Trade?

Towards the end of the Convent of the Elements in Mythodea, Realms Year 1019, Ulrich von Hochkammer of Porto Leonis approached Dagger of Blackwood about problems he had heard the Ambassador and Trade Leader had with his city The conversation was rather long and it detailed the issues the E.B.Co had with Porto Leonis. The leader of Porto Leonis explained that the political and trade landscape had changed in Porto Leonis and that such things were no longer as they were when last Dagger spoke with a diplomat or the city. Dagger presented the E.B.Co's business platform and the two agreed to speak further in five weeks time during the Summer Campaign.

Creathone Delivers Resources for Trade

During the Convent of the Elements, Realms Year 1019, Sayeh of Sapphire Isle delivered the trademark listing the resources delivered to Seehandelsgilde ports to be purchased effectively helping secure East Blackwood and Realms Embassy finances for another year. The mark was later delivered to the S.H.G for their documentation.

Hanse and East Blackwood Company

During the Convent of the Elements, Realms Year 1019, dealings between the Hanse and the East Blackwood Company continued culminating in the drawing, signing and sealing of a contract between the two company leaders. Dagger of Blackwood is now a member of the Hanse and Tares O'Grady Windschreiter of the East Blackwood Company.

Pan Mythodean Trade Summit

Once again during the Convent of the Elements, Realms Year 1019, the Realm of Roses hosted this event. Merchants from all around Mythodea and beyond were present along with dignitaries, lords, and ladies. Mixed in with a variety of entertainments was the chance to trade and make contracts with merchants and nations of Mythodea. The E.B.Co was also present at this meeting.

River Trade in Schönweiler

The E.B.Co briefly met with Baron Fiete Münzer at the War of Ashes Campaign to Khal'hatra to discuss the river trade deal. Currently, the situation suggests that word from the Realm of Roses Master of Coin is needed to continue business further. Conversations with Stordon von Zackenburg later explained why.

Sayeh of the E.B.Co Joins the S.H.G

During the Convent of the Elements, Realms Year 1019, Sayeh of Sapphire Isle was presented to the Seehandelsgilde. To assist with the proceedings, Ambassador Dagger presented Sayeh with a model of her ship a few days prior. The Governor, Frances of the S.H.G, sat down with Sayeh and Djako of the East Blackwood Company to discuss terms of membership. At the conclusion of the discussions, Sayeh was admitted with the stipulation that she fills out her crew more.

Business with Caradoc

At the start of the Convent, Realms Year 1019, Caradoc and the E.B.Co visited each other many times to work on business. The first meeting happened when a merchant of the Caradoc approached the company about the advertisement posted within the Herold. The first contract discussion was about mercenaries and later on, discussions continued about possible business opportunities culminating in a request from the East Blackwood Company for ships crew for The Jasmine, Sayeh of Saphire Isle's ship.

The Realms / Tournaments of Creathorne 26 from the View from Valehaven

06.06.2019

The Tournaments of Creathorne have been held in Creathorne for over two and a half decades. This year marked the twenty-sixth year of the festival. The festival is hosted for over four days with added days for those who travel from afar to attend the festivities. Each year, ToC offers a large list of tournaments including bard's events, singles combat events, group combat events, a feast, gambling tables, the War or Nation's Tournament and more.

Tournaments of Creathorne by Sir Shean O'Quinnlin

People of title and those without from all over The Realms started to arrive in the Lands of Creathorne on Wednesday for the Annual tournaments. People of all walks of life, those warriors and spellcasters for sure but also gamblers, bards, entertainers, gamesmen and more were present. Friday, the Majority of people arrived and the evening was full of activities. There were lots of storytelling, drinking and socializing around the campfires. Many conversing until Blue O' Clock in the morning where the skies were a brightening but day would not come for another hour or so.

Saturday morning many more arrived and tournaments began around lunchtime. Many of the un-armored fights and magic competitions took place them and some of the target competitions like archery, knife, and ax throwers were showing their skills as well. At dinner time, the bards entertained with their songs, stories, poems, and dances. The night was filled with dances around the fires and similar less inebriated states as Friday evening.

Sunday, the first tournament is the war tournament every year. This is where many nations show their best in a no-holds-barred fight no matter their size with everything they have from fighters, spellcasters, monsters, and weaponry; some being magical in nature. There was a nice showing of sportsmanship in many of the fights and many nations got in more fights than the usual. There was as many as one sworn sword on the field to nations with over sixty showing their skills in the battles. Then, after the conclusion of the War Tournament, all of the armored unlimited fights finished the day. Awards and recognitions were presented just before dinner and people departed sometime Monday and or Tuesday. It seemed like a good time was had by all.

- Sir Shean O'Quinnlin

As Tournaments of Creathorne is one of the largest Realms gatherings every year; as such many nations use it for official meetings, personal festivities and to hold court. Bellow, Sayeh of Sapphire Isle recounts what happened at Blackwood Court. Also below are the tournament results for this year's Tournaments of Creathorne.

Blackwood Court by Sayeh of Sapphire Isle

Every year during the Tournaments of Creathorne, the Kingdom of Blackwood holds court where the nation's affairs are discussed, titles and awards are granted and important announcements are made. This year was indeed a grand affair as the news and changes it brought with it were substantial.

Lord Torolf was knighted to the Knights of Blackwood. After having been elevated to the title of Lord of Alonis, Torolf was yet to hold the respective knightly title that typically goes with the holding of lands within the Kingdom of Blackwood's feudal structure. This changed when a well-deserving Torolf received his knightly belt and blow and can now be known as Sir Torolf, Lord of Alonis.

It has been some time since Blackwood had a High Mage. This was rectified after a grueling series of tests where Belle, Toah, Vesper, Kara, and Novo faced off against one another. In the end, it was Vesper who proved the most worthy of the title and position.

His Majesty, King Sir Kerrell of Blackwood proposed to his mistress of many years, the First Knight of Blackwood, Lady Jinx of Ufern. The wedding is set to take place during the Feast of Blackwood later this year.

The Realms / Death of Lord Sir Vawn by Dagger and Eagle's Rook

24.05.2019

Death of Lord Sir Vawn Coupant,
Knight Commander of Eagle's Rook
Templar of Vandor
Knight of the Eternal Flame
Knight of the Realms

Not all struggles are fought on a battlefield. Some are born out of pride, loyalty, respect, and honor. Vawn struggled with all of those things. Born a lowly farmer, Vawn Coupant earned a knighthood and was later risen to the status of Lord of Eagle's Rook. In his time, Vawn was a paragon of honor, valor, and truth as it was the code he lived by. Vawn's wife was a symbol of his personal values and when she fell heroically and entered the Summerlands, Vawn dedicated his life to do the same where one day he would be reunited with her.

Along with an intrepid host of warriors of the Realms, Sir Vawn journeyed through the cursed plane of Gaol on a holy quest given to him by Vandor, the God of Protection and Vengeance. Together they faced off against wicked Asmodeus and the fell minions he had gathered, in a valiant endeavor to free Garm, the God of Balance, who had long been imprisoned, pinned to his throne by the Sword of Kings. It was there on that noble quest that Vawn Coupant passed onto the Summerlands where he would fight his final battle for all eternity along side his beloved wife.

Hero is a common term in the Realms, yet few live up to the name. Most "heroes" spend much of their active lives invading foreign lands and meddling in the affairs of others. While not all actions on behalf of the "heroes" of the Realms are morally bad, few can actually say with conviction that they are true heroes. Yet Sir Vawn had always lived up to that meaning the word hero invokes. He had always been a figure one could respect and idolize. A white knight in a field of gray, Vawn Coupant was a true Hero of the Realms in his lifetime.

Having risen from a simple farmer to become a knight, lord, and paragon of Honor, Valor and Truth, Sir Vawn mortal existence ended in much the same way he lived, in service to others. Lord Sir Vawn Coupant leaves behind his daughter, Liana Coupant, the family Coupant, and a grieving nation.

Bicolline / Spring Tavern Night by Sir Shean

16.05.2019

Bicolline tavern night April: The night was very eventful with lots of things happening for the Realms Embassy. The City of Sands land deal went through and we were given the land of Ghazi Al-Khya with a palisade on it. The palisade is currently empty but in the next month or so Realms Embassy hunters will be arriving and setting things up to start exploring that region. There are rumors that there are three nuisances in the area. That is one reason the Realms Embassy has been asked to help the people of the City of the Sands to rid these things from this region. It is the hope of the Realms Embassy to start hunting these things and have their first monster kills in the region by end of the summer season.

There was a trade agreement concluded for peasants and recourses that we will need to build a library in Kintzheim and it is hopeful that we break ground for that building in the summer months. We also plan on starting clearing some land this summer and putting in fields and a grain mill in Kintzheim in the near future. We are currently discussing land development with another province in the Empire for raising cattle and sheep.

Diplomatic discourse took place between a duchess and the Realms Embassy took place over the subject of possibly training elven fighting men and women to become elven knights. Those discussions are still very far from finished and much more planning and discussions need to occur in the future.

Herzogtum Veldenz and Pirmas / Wedding of Cathair and Tamina

13.05.2019

This past weekend, Junker Cathair Ap Kriegstein Votgt zu Kleinsteinhausen und Bottenbach wed Tamina Edeltraut von Bruchmühlbach Wolfstein in a fine manor on the Pirmas countryside surrounded by friends and noble guests. The groom, Junker Cathair Ap Kriegstein, personally invited Ambassador Dagger and his retinue at Münzfest to his upcoming wedding. After the recent campaign in Kahl'hatra Mythodea, Ambassador Dagger, Representative Djako and Don Anthem De'vigil Delos HORD traveled to the Western Seal of Mythodea with the Baroness Elflama and from there out of Mythodea and onto Pirmas. Their arrival was fashionably late but nothing of import was missed. Unfortunately, Djako took ill on the journey and was left at an inn to recover so as not to infect the wedding party.

Diplomacy

The guests in attendance were varied from local lords of high and low standing, dignitaries from the Mittelander, Moringaard, Mythodea, the Realms and more. Ambassador Dagger of Blackwood met with various people of high standing and explained his purpose, title, and presence to those who wished to know or those who the Ambassador thought best to know. After the reading of the wedding contract, the Ambassador signed and sealed it with the Blackwood seal as witness.

After the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, Ambassador Dagger of Blackwood and Don Anthem DeVigil, Delos HORD approached the newly married couple. Dagger presented Don Anthem who in turn presented his gift of hand-crafted mug and glass holders. The Ambassador then presented his gift, a special coin, to Cathair and to the lady a token of Blackwood explaining, "This is to remind you that even in lands as far always as the Realms and the Kingdom of Blackwood, you have allies that will defend your hearth and home."

Shortly after the gifting, Ambassador Dagger spoke with Jungker Cathair offering him the trade services of the East Blackwood Company should he ever take the Eastern Seal up on their offer of a fiefdom. Immediately following, Ambassador Dagger applied the East Blackwood Company seal to the marriage contract as a reminder of that support.

The Wedding

The gracious host Cathair presented made ready comfortable lodgings for all guests in attendance. The large building was three stories in hight complete with its own ballroom, tavern, feast hall and great hall. The tavern's name changed regularly depending on current events culminating with the Brenende Wirt so named after the tavern keeper who caught on fire during a fire show. Though burned, he returned to his duties shortly after and is expected to make a full recovery.

During there was a troll issue involving a troll's eggs. The troll was eventually killed by various members of the wedding party. There were games and gambling provided by the East Blackwood Embassy and by the tavern itself. The kitchens were constantly working on feeding those present and that team can only be recommended. The food was exquisite. Also, a pleasant delight were the bards who played sang for the wedding. Both were highly skilled at their craft delivering a variety of fine music with stringed instruments and qualitative vocals.

There was an altercation starting early the day of the wedding where soldiers of Kröppen captured the bride's lady in waiting and attempted to bargain her for a fifteen gold ransom. Cathair attempted to discuss terms and sent for the coin to be collected while a troop from among the guests ranged out to find the captured lady. It appeared apparent that the soldiers were doing their best to disrupt the wedding and it is the belief of The Ambassador Staff that Köppen held no intention of letting the lady live even if the ransom had been paid. The matter was handled with quick brutality leaving many dead and wounded. The lady lived and, after an arduous healing process, so did her saviors.

The wedding itself started some hours after the ransom incident with the bride's arrival and subsequent separation from the groom. All "ladies", those not wielding weapons, were asked to leave the great hall with the bride while the marriage contract was read to the "men", those with weapons, who were present. The contract detailed the terms of the marriage, the penalty for adultery, expectations of the wife and husband and the dowery. When the contract reading was complete, the nobles and dignitaries in attendance were invited to sign it after the ceremony was complete.

Following the contract reading, the bride and her ladies were called into the room. Both the bride and groom were asked what it was they were there to do and what they wanted. Both answered that they wished to be wed to one another. Cathair was called forth by a Priest of the Six Elements who declared that Cathair was not yet a man. The priest ordered him forward to be made a man. The priest then slapped Cathair across the face and blessed him with a branch and water sending him back to stand by his bride to be.

Tamina was also called forth but this time by a Priestess of the Six Elements and a similar ritual was performed only this time the slap was delivered to the hand. The ceremony continued with a symbolic ritual of defense and more words spoken by a priest and priestess. When that part of the marriage ceremony was completed, the wedding party was invited up to the ballroom for the second half.

During the small break that followed, various guests of the wedding signed and sealed the wedding contract.

The ballroom was blessed and with it the bridal pair by the priest and priestess. Those in attendance were asked if they opposed the until and in answer Cathair half drew his sword from its scabbard, ready to defend his right to wed Tamina. The gods were likewise asked but Cathair, smartly so, did not dare challenge their will. The priest and priestess concluded the ceremony and bound Cathair and Tamina in blessed matrimony.

After gifts were presented by the wedding party including by the East Blackwood Embassy on behalf of the Embassy and the Kingdom of Blackwood. Later that night the wedding dance was performed as well as subsequent dances. The last attraction and final send off for the new married couple was an amusing fire show which rightly changed the name of the tavern one last time.

Mythodea / War of Ashes - Khal'Hatra by Dagger

09.05.2019

The War of Ashes, a war between Razash'dai, their allies and those under of Noreen Brandbringer who still worshiped the traitor Merth'Yar, has been raging on for some time now. The fanatical followers had employed a total war strategy of fire and death which was not limited to soldiers but extended in full to civilians alike. Forces from Mythodean Realms, Nations, and Cities marched to Khal'Hatra in an attempt to turn the tide of war against Brandbringer and the followers of Merth'Yar but their efforts have not bared the expected fruit.

Zweiwasser

By the grace of King Sir Kerrell Kala'mar of Blackwood and at the wishes and suggestion of Ambassador Dagger of Blackwood and Baroness Sayeh of Sapphire Isle, the East Blackwood Embassy pledged support to Margrave Balor the Red of Zweiwasser on his road to becoming the new Archon of Thorns. In this case that included traveling with Zweiwasser to Khal'Hatra. As guests supporting Balor, the Embassy pledged the support of the Embassy Guard in Balor's, Zweiwasser's and the Realm of Roses endeavors. The Embassy and East Blackwood Company were also there to offer any other support they were able if asked.

The Realm of Roses, and the Camp of Zweiwasser, were visited by Midnight, an Edalphi of the crown of creation, and was presented with two of Zweiwasser's best fighters by Margrave Balor the Red for her personal viewing in a duel. Balor introduced the East Blackwood Embassy to Midnight as an ally to Zweiwasser during her visit. Shortly after, the Regent of the Realm of Roses, Amir, led Midnight deeper into the camp to introduce her to the rest of the realm and its culture.

The Embassy performed tasks for Margrave Balor when able including purification of corrupted trees within the Court of Bones and the destruction of the expelled Schwares Eis after the purification was complete. On the final day of the campaign, Balor explained the need to form Talisman's with the Sephor'Assi, an elemental tribe of Aqua in order to save Noreen Brandbringer from the corruption of the Schwarzes Eis. Unfortunately, the task was too late given and the Embassy was not able to complete it in time. Instead, the Embassy opted to take the field using the talisman's they received from the Naldar so that they would be able to lead some semblance of support to their Mythodean allies and to the elements some of them worshiped, the Ambassador included. That Battle was a success but the struggle to save Noreen was not.

Münzquell

Upon the late arrival of Ambassador Dagger and Representative Djako, the East Blackwood Embassy ran into some "trouble" on the road into the war camps. Two wolf-like humanoids, one by the name of Papageno, confronted Dagger, Djako and their guard Varn on the path between the Ambassador's cart and the Münzquell War Camp. They requested, sternly, that Ambassador Dagger deliver their message to Antares of the Münzquell which was that one of the Münzquell had to answer for his transgressions within the forest. Dagger promised to deliver the information and did so shortly after. However, the target recipient of news had already retired for the evening. The Regent of the Münzquell agreed to pass on the information.

Western Seal

As the needs of the embassy continue to grow, so does its need for a personal military force. The Embassy Guard was established to protect and promote the interests of the Embassy and of the Crown. To this end, Ambassador Dagger, Representative Djako and the Embassy Guard met with the Archon of the West on two occasions to discuss the possibility of housing and training the Embassy Guard. Archon Collin accepted the Ambassador's request which will allow the Embassy Guard to be housed at the Kura'Assil barracks within Grian Quihenya, the Capital of the Western Seal. Also upon the Archon's suggestions, the Embassy Guard will train with the Kura'Assil under Collin's brother, Conall MacCorribh.

Later during the campaign, Ambassador Dagger, Representative Djako and the Embassy Guard went to the Kura'Assil camp to meet with and get to know Conell and the Kura'Assil. There, Conell and the Embassy and Guard introduced themselves to one another. Ambassador Dagger presented the Kura'Assil with two marching songs and the Blackwood Lied which was performed by himself and the Embassy Guard.

Porto Leonis

During one of the Embassy's visits to the Western Seal War Camp, there was a court marshal of one to two citizens of Porto Leonis who had assaulted a Western Army Scout. There was no claimed provocation of the attack other than the assaihlents having been paid to do so. The orders and pay came from an alleged captain but as of now, The Ambassador does not have his or her idenity. A member of Porto Leonis also attempted to have a member of the Embassy Guard poison a member of the Bracar Keltoi. The Ambassador is looking into the details further.

Conclusion

The spring campaign to Khal'Hatra held its mixes of successes and failures for Mythodea. Some important battles were won while others were lost. The host of forces removed itself from Khal'Hatra a week after its arrival having made a mark but likely not yet turned the tide of war. The East Blackwood Embassy played its part and will continue to do so as long as there is an Ambassador and an Embassy Guard and the East Blackwood Embassy will continue to work to increase logistical ability and support to the regions of Mythodea to ensure the resources and forces necessary to claim victory are able to reach their destinations.

Realms / Feast of Voraniss by Sir Shean

20.04.2019

As Lady Kindrianna Athame wrote in the invitations, the people of Voraniss opened their gates to their friends and allies for their first Feast of Voraniss where foreign dignitaries and guests would be made welcome for the first time. There their clan leader was named Druid King, Hygar Athame:

"Voraniss is a wild country. Our cities are small and our people are fierce, but they are no less joyous to see the sun when the last snow thaws. This year Voraniss also intends to name Hygar Athame as its Druid King; its unifier and source of inspiration for growth and greatness. You, our guests, are invited to bear witness to this sacred coronation ceremony and bring your business before the Voranian court once you run it by our local Magistrate. Please understand that our people take ritual and prayer very seriously, and will call the Spirits of the land to watch over these proceedings. Should you choose to speak of matters of importance, they will be listening." - Lady Kindrianna Athame

Sir Shean and the Realms Embassy was among the many guests for this feast.

Feast of Voraniss had many of the normal accompaniments for food and drink however very early into the morning there were groups of some sort of talking lizard creatures looking to address Higer and the people of Voraniss. There was quite a bit of talk that their touch was poisonous and to not let them touch you or your food or drink. These Swamp creatures made it a point to walk around and talk to everyone letting them know they were looking to talk to Higer about a treaty. When Higer was pointed out to them and they were told by people that they could not speak for Voraniss they often walked away not going to Higer. It is not known why they did this but several feast growers commented that this appeared very funny almost staged.

An alliance was concluded at some point of the day. The show and pomp was very well done but the ceremony was very long and a few interactions and spirits that came and inhabited members of Voraniss was disturbing enough that multiple on looks in sheathed weapons. There were some gifts exchanged and one thing was a tree and a very long story by King Cecil of Chimeron about being a good monarch and watching a red maple grow...

In conclusion, there were about eight members of The Realms Embassy in attendance and 3 Creathorne members out of the about eighty people that attended.

- Sir Shean O'Quinnlin

Mythodea / Bluthatz 3 by Dagger

11.04.2019

The Bluthatz serves as the first hunt of the year. The first blooding. A right of passage some could say. The Bluthatz offers battle, drink, song, dance, hunt, and blood. There have been four attempts thus far at the Bluthatz and three were successful. This time was no exception.

Two weeks ago the East Blackwood Embassy and East Blackwood Company joined the Blutpakt and the Fire Dancers of the Artist's Guild (Künstlergilde) on the hunt. The raiding party met at Karlstadt and from there marched South into Undead Flesh territory known as the Hohld. The Ambassador and Leader of the E.B.Co wanted to give the Embassy Guard a chance to gain some combat, if not very dangerous, experience as well as speak with his contact in the Artist's Guild and also better understand the intentions of the Blutadler, a Blutpakt Clan, concerning the Realm of Roses (Reich der Rosen.)

Everything that was attempted was achieved but not without cost.

The Blood Jarl

As reported by the Mitrasperan Herold, Jarl Aegir Mc Roth of the Blutadlers may have had an interest in conquering at least part of the Realms of Roses or attempting to become Archon. Naturally, the words both spoken and written would have Rosen folk on edge after the death of their beloved Archon so, the Embassy saw it fitting to search for the validity of these statements during the annual Bluthatz. There various clans and friends of the Blutpakt would band together and travel south via Karlstadt into Undead Flesh territory to hunt for blood and honor. There, the Embassy would find the Blutadlers.

Ambassador Dagger, Varn of CrestGrath, Medina "Layla" Delany and Djako Kaevh took a ship from the mainland of the Western Seal hiring a mercenary, Ricardo, along the way. Upon arrival, a woman, thought to have been of the crew, was hired on as Master of Ships to the East Blackwood Company as well. After the Warband pushed deep into enemy territory and secured a small town there, they set up camp and prepared their defenses for whatever retaliation would come. It was then during the days that followed that Ambassador Dagger and Representative Djako were able to speak with various members of the Blutpakt, including warriors of the Blutadlers, to learn the true meaning of the words put to parchment a month prior.

In the first few conversations, the general idea that the Jarl himself was in no state to "conquer" anything let alone challenge for the title and position of Archon was made clear. In fact, a chance encounter with the Jarl seemed to suggest that that assumption may be true when Dagger found him drunkenly brawling with various Pakt members outside a local tavern. Longer conversations, later on, suggested that the writer of the Herold article was no one of import, in fact, no one of consequence. It was presented that perhaps the author of the article was just trying to stir up some chaos. One such quote that put the Embassy at ease was as follows, "Have you met the Jarl? Do you really think he is capable of anything like that?"

Still, none of the conversations had pointedly declared that everything that was voiced was false even if the words quoted were likely spoken by the Jarl in drunken jest. When deep in one's drink one often speaks truths. So while it is the opinion of the Ambassador that nothing serious will come of the words recorded in the Herold, it is always prudent to be careful of one's potential enemies as well as one's friends.

The Bluthatz

The combined war band of the Blutpakt, Artist's Guild Fire Dancers (Künstlergilde) and the East Blackwood Embassy and East Blackwood Company marched south into the Hohld during the dead of night. The Embassy Guard took up the rear guarding the supplies while the Blutpakt formed the ram that would punch its way deep into enemy territory. The region traveled was wooded which restricted movement yet the file pushed on with haste. The column halted just before the stench of un-death when the scouts reported the siting of a village at the foot of the woodland trail the band had taken.

Fighting erupted a few moments after the file had stopped to scout the area. Door to door, ally to ally, the hunters hunted yet the hunted stood their ground. Raiders the war band was but the enemy was not about to go down without a fight. The initial push was heavy and chaotic. Order and discipline quickly vanished before the violence of battle. This may have been a hunt but it was not deer and elk being hunted, it was Undead Flesh.

The Embassy Guard quickly found themselves approaching the last building yet to be cleared, a wooden tavern raised off the ground by a tall foundation. Inside, undead soldiers in full military dress. Dagger knew that the guard's chances were slim to none but perhaps if they could hold the enemy back long enough by blocking the door, aid from the Fire Dancers and or the Blutpakt would come. But it was not long enough.

The heavy infantry of the Undead Flesh pressed into the presented shields of the Guard pushing them back allowing them freedom of movement and freedom to flank. Ambassador Dagger noticed the predicament and did what he could to buy more time yet even that was near not enough. Ambassador Dagger, the old soldier, went down and his personal guard Madina with him. They were saved only by the arrival of Blutpakt warriors. The Guard upon Captain Varn of the Guard's orders withdrew from the engagement and regrouped with the Artist's Guild.

Dagger's wounds were tended to but the chaos of war continued a while longer. Even the mighty Ing mistook the Ambassador of Blackwood as a foe, nearly removing his arm from his body. Luckily for Dagger, that was the last push of the Undead Flesh until the next morning.

Fighting in the Hohld continued much as it had begun over the next couple of days. Battles were fought, injuries earned and life lost. After a time it became clear what had already been understood. This was a hunt and hunts end. A day or so after the funeral of Ronja Damotil the war band packed up their tents and marched home.

Honor had been won but at a cost...

Death of Ronja Damotil,

Former Chancellor of Knowledge of the Märkischer Bund

War brings with it the casualties of soldiers, mercenaries, and civilians alike. In war, death is unavoidable. In war loss is imminent. Some call it the ultimate sacrifice. Some even wish for a glorious death at the hands of a foe. Too often do we play down the value of life in our minds when we think or speak of war. However righteous the cause the stakes are always high. Even in victory, the reality of loss will strike hardest those who have been so nieve to think, to believe, that war is without the pain of fallen comrades in arms.

During the third Bluthatz into the Hohld, Ronja Damotil, daughter of Boromil Damotil, paid for her service with the ultimate sacrifice, her life. Ronja was not a warrior but a seeker of knowledge and a scribe. In life, she served her people as Chancellor of Knowledge of the Märkischer Bund and was the scribe for Lucan Vilkai, the leader of the Freedom Banner last year, who accompanied him to meetings with the Banner Council (Bannerrat.) She was also a good friend Xykara Jamen AlDuara Alfannan and her family, they called her little sister...

Ronja followed her friend Xykara, a fire dancer of the Artist's Guild (Künstlergilde) south into the Hohld and fell in battle within the first couple of days of the Hatz and her life was celebrated shortly after.

In the center of the village, previously owned by the Undead Flesh, a funeral pyre was erected. Ronja's body was bound in cloth and rope and placed upon it. Clans of the Blutpakt, the East Blackwood Embassy and Ronja's Artist's Guild friends attended the funeral. Kind words of friendship, family, love, and respect were spoken by various members of the gathered war band. Representative Djako Kaevh of the East Blackwood Embassy as well as Ambassador Dagger of the same both spoke and gave offering to the life and passing of one of Mythodea's fallen heroes.

Ronja will be remembered

Ronja will be honored

And blood will run in Ronja's name!

- Dagger of Blackwood

Bicolline / Le Bal Pourpre by Sir Shean

04.04.2019

Every year the Purple Ball is hosted in a new city. This year, the City of Sands was host. As such, the Realms Embassy prepared gifts for both the Sultan of the City of Sands and the newly crowned Queen Ellana d'Azkul of the Federation.

Members of The Realms Embassy arrived a few days early in the Desert for the Purple Ball. The Realms Embassy brought gifts for the sultan who was expected to be in attendance. Here is a list of the items presented: Honey from the Lands of Creathorne, pink sea salt from the Blood Sea, white chocolate from the Elves of Moonglade Forest, Very dark chocolate from the Dwarves of the mountains of Banthier, Chocolate, salt, and caramel from Kintzheim and two different types of Lembas Bread.

For The New Crown Queen Ellana d'Azkul of the Federation, The Realms Embassy had planned on presenting her with a Crown much lighter than a court crown, so she does not have to wear a heavy crown when out around town and among the common people. It has not arrived from sea as of yet the Embassy hopes by the time they next see her it will be in their hands to give.

Meetings and the like

Friday evening the Realms Embassy was invited to an evening festivity with Berkwall as they always have a Friday night gathering before the ball and everything looked like this year the Embassy would be able to attend with our arrival times. However, the conditions of the roads the Embassy taken were not the best so the Embassy's travel was much much slower than expected. This along with other scheduling difficulties made it so the Embassy was not able to attend the Berkwall festivities.

Saturday morning and afternoon were filled with meetings where trade and partnerships were discussed. The Ambassador does not have permission to discuss the content of these meetings.

During the ball, the Realms Embassy were planned to attending meetings from around 6pm to after midnight with small brakes between meetings. After arriving at the Ball, the first meeting with the Kingdom of Andore but it had to be missed due to the arrival time and security for the Sultan actually being at the Ball.

At the Empire Meeting as Sir Shean was being seated he was pulled out of the meeting by the Emperor. The Emperor needed him to go with him, Markus of Ferata, Dutches Dogma of Ragnarok and some others to meet with the Sultan. At the meeting with the Empire's taxes were discussed, some changes in leadership in some provinces and various other items. By reports afterwards the meeting had to be run by the chancellor because the Emperor was missing from the meeting. The Realms Embassy provided samples of possible rations for the Soldiers of the Empire as their donations to the war Effort that all of the leadership could try during the meeting.

The Meeting with the Sultan, dealings, and hostilities between the City of Sands and the Empire was discussed. The need for help with dealing with Isphet (a lich) in the desert was discussed and aid was asked for and offered. The Realms Embassy was given access to the desert by the Sultan to hunt as soon as land can be secured for them to house their supplies and troops so they can explore and hunt the desert creatures causing issues in that region. It was also a discussion of possibilities of receiving the Sultans sword for hunting the lich after more information is obtained of what logistics are needed for that Hunt. Translation from the sultan was done by a servant of the Sultan for Sir Shean by the Emperor. The Sultan spoke in a language not understood by the emperor, so the translation for him was from the servant, then the emperor translated to Sir Shean what had been said... The Gifts were given to the Sultans nephew as we were seated for the meeting.

An Exploration house meeting was the next meeting where everyone met with all of the Guilds of the house there was some early discussing in the meeting where one guild left the house and another was possibly another leaving before the ball would be over (and they did need to leave because of their Kingdom requirements). There was a long discussion and rather heated parts of how the house was being run and how some things needed to change. The House leaders explained the misunderstandings and everything seemed to calm down. The meeting was translation by one of the Guild Masters of another guild for Sir Shean of the Realms Embassy.

Ragnarok has their Guild meeting where no one was aloud entry that was not in Ragnarok, the room then opened up to Members of Kintzheim the Province. Sir Shean Represented The Realms Embassy other members were also expected and it was asked where they were but they were not able to arrive to the meeting. There were discussions about building plans for the province, expansion, Lord Thorstein discussed bridges etc. Sir Shean of the Reams Embassy announced that the Embassy was commissioning a coin smith to start on the first Kintzheim coin a five solar that should be available at the Grand Battle, he also discussed the plans for building a Library in the province. The Realms Embassy provided the same ration possibilities for Kintzhime soldiers for attendants of the meeting that were provided for the Empire meeting.

The last of meetings in this LONG night of meetings was a discussion with a large number of leaders with the people of the City of Sand where it was discussed the possible ways to deal with the destruction and hazards happening in the desert being caused by Isphet where at this moment she is sending nine legions of undead out from her crypt and she has secured thirteen to sixteen areas in the desert at this time. Some of her troops have moved into the Terres de Sud where King Rathan is currently having leaders send troops to fight them. No Translation was secured for this meeting a briefing letter is being drafted for the Realms Embassy at this time by the Silver Owls. Sir Shean did receive a fast short briefing from the people of the City of Sands after the meeting.

Finally some of the Festivities! There was music and revelry of the region a show from some group dancers and some sword dancers also. Some Wrestling happened and "The red Hot Chilly Pepper " was defeated, Sir Shean did not actually see the fight but by reports it was "a complete ass kicking"...

Sir Simon did finally get to meet up with King Rathan to get his Knight paperwork signed making him a free-knight that had been knighted and released by King Rathan. Seyah had departed the evening early it was believed that the desert was not agreeing with her. The Realms Embassy had 17 in attendance along with a few others that were Part of their Party and perhaps part of the Embassy in the future.

The Realms / Feast Of Verai 2: Festival of Cerwyden by Sir Shean

21.03.2019

"The Kingdom of New Verai was dissolved in 995, shortly after the introduction of the worship of the god Arioch, by New Verai's steward, Baron Cinnabar of the Borderlands. All vassals of New Verai were released of their oaths to Verai, and permitted to take the lands that they governed with them. Only New Verai itself, and the lands of Doomghaurd remained under the direct control of the royal d'Verai family." - The Library of CrestGrath -

In recent years, Nertail arrived in the Realms heralding a new age for the lands of New Verai as the new Steward of Verai. Last year marked the first Feast of Verai since the arrival of the new Steward. - The Ambassador

Tournament

Later that day a gladiatorial pit fighting tournament took place. Sir Rillan was the last man standing and was awarded land and livestock in the lands of New Verai. In a grand Knightly gesture, Sir Rillan declined his reward and passed his prize along to another fighter of the arena, Leon.

The Realms / Feast of Creathorne by Sayeh and Sir Shean

04.03.2019

For many years the Feast of Creathorne has been a consistent winter gathering of the Realms' Winter Season. The Feast, as its name suggests, is hosted by the Nation of Creathorne of which the Guild Master of the Realms Embassy, Sir Shean, is a lord of. Dignitaries from all over the Realms, warriors and those who just like food were in attendance. Various lords of Blackwood were also present at the feast where the East Blackwood Embassy's Realms Liason, Sayeh of Sapphire Isle, spoke about trade deals in Mythodea. - The Ambassador

Baroness Sayeh requested the attention of his Royal Highness, Crown Prince Saegen and some of the Lords of Blackwood. They were made aware of a trade deal to be made with the leader of the M. Hansa and the ambassador, Dagger, that if the companies both joined that this could mean the expansion of the kingdom's operations and a working network of trade. Sayeh asked if the Lords of Blackwood were interested in investing into this endeavor of trade to supply the embassy if it also meant in time that the Lords would also turn about a profit for their goods in time. The offer was met with equal interest, and further arrangements will be made before the Tournaments of Creathorne at the start of the summer before the Baroness is to set sail for her journey back to Mythodea. - Sayeh

Bicolline / LA SOIRÉE - TAVERNE - Mereth Isilnarvinyë by Sir Shean

11.02.2019

January 26th 1019 The Realms Embassy hosted a tavern night, "Mereth Isilnarvinyë" to Celebrate the full moon of new fire. Although with the weather, the moon was not visible it was still a great evening. An Announcement had to be made, that we could not allow any not reserved to attend would not be granted admittance due to the capacity of the Tavern. A shop nearby was opened to accommodate the extra people. All of the rooms in the Amberge were booked as were many of the rooms available nearby in close surrounding places with accommodations. The Embassy had 13 members in attendance to great and entertain invited guests for the evening. Swoop, Mel, Olya, Bart, and some others performed music. We had planned on having Krystos dance and do some Fire spinning but it was too cold to do that outside and spinning fire inside a tavern that is overfull would not be wise.

The usual Tavern refreshments and foods were available along with some of the Embassy Cookies, cakes, Bacon and Freedom Cupcakes (cupcakes with blue frosting, maple drizzle, and Bacon). The Bar offered their mixed drinks, ciders and beers I do not believe there were any special occasion drinks available... Some Merchant shops were doing some trades and sales while there. Some dignitaries were discussing undead armies on the move and how they should deal with them very soon, where they are, and how they are already in "Terres du Sud". It is believed that those armies are being controlled by a lich in the desert lands.

Later in the evening, there were a few Librarians that came through the Tavern selling used books but would only sell to people who had libraries in their lands. They were The Van Eyk Family from Kintzheim. Sir Shean O'Quinnlin spoke with Eva Van Eyk about the books and how they were being sold, quality of the books and types of books that they had.

In the Wee hours of the morning, there were a few people doing what appeared to be a knife fight on the main floor near the bar, but many people had left so it was down to 10-20 people. It appeared that no innocent bystanders were harmed by that which was going on. In the Morning the Realms Embassy had breakfast in the Amberge and watched as the weather was quickly changing from snow flurries to about 2 inches of snow in less than an hour when they departed for their homes in the Realms...

Sir Shean O'Quinnlin

Guildmaster of the Realms Embassy

The Realms / Feast of Leviathan by Sayeh

25.01.2019

A New Champion for Blackwood - Feast of Leviathan

Since Sir Seagan was crowned Prince of Blackwood and heir to the throne of Blackwood, his Royal Highness decided it was time to pas the torch and title of "Champion of Blackwood." The kingdom's best warriors that came to Leviathan took up their swords and challenged one another to see who was best among those present. The victory was well won by Sir Tao, Duke of Clontarf.

Other news regarding the Embassy was that his Majesty, Sir Kerrell gave his blessing for the Blackwood Embassy to support Balor the Red, Margrave of Zweiwasser, in his campaign to become Archon of Thrones, on the conditions that this is in thanks for the opportunities the Margrave has given to the Embassy and for his support in return. The Blackwood Embassy will continue to be open to diplomatic relations with whomever campaigns for the title and keep relations with the Reich der Rosen.

The Knights of Blackwood have also announced a new heraldry for the knighthood. The symbol of an armored hand, one show a fist for times of battle, and an open hand in times of diplomacy.

A heartfelt congratulations is in order also for Sir Iawen of Eagles Rook who was invited to join the Knights of the Realms, and she accepted. This was met with a loud and thuderous applause from those present at the feast, and joyous cheers from Iawen's oldest daughter. Her daughter also delivered Iawen's final unanswered blow.

The Weekend Report

The Stacked Deck: Final Table

Everyone knows that I am not much for playing poker, but some of my friends are so I decided to attend this year's (last years?) Stacked Deck finale. This was my first time attending the event, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I quite honestly assumed I would be bored much of the time and relegated to retrieving things for the folks participating in the tournament. I was very happy to be proven wrong on this account. While I did voluntarily tell the players if they needed anything to ask me, but they, for the most part, took care of themselves and I was free to pursue other avenues of entertainment.

The food was done in a pot luck style. None of it killed me, though I didn't actually feel adventurous enough to try Daekara's Risotto. It was white and lumpy and quite honestly I was on vacation from work and decided to pass. But others ate it and are still here to tell the tale, so it appears that all is well. Whoever made the kielbasa in the beer gets a special mention because it was quite delicious. Also, special thanks to Trent for bringing coffee as we all likely wouldn't have made it through the day without it.

Aside from the main tournament itself, there were other games to be had. While there were non-gambling games, apparently we aren't very enticed by those and they sat mostly unused. Trent and I did make an attempt at playing a game of cribbage, but that's when they decided to start the second poker game and we were interrupted, which is fine because I was winning and I am confident that I would have continued on to victory. The craps table was off the rails, literally, there were no rails, and I think this may have contributed to how much money I lost. Though I did roll really well and made other people some money, I myself didn't fare so well. The roulette table was equally as against me, and I didn't stay there very long either.

The blackjack table was very good to me, so I spent most of my day there. Tempest was dealing most of the day, and while she started out a bit shaky, she seemed to have it together by the end of the day. She facilitated a fun, social environment that I appreciated and we all seemed to enjoy. There was some slight argument over the statistically poor choice of the 'Jinx Bet', but we seemed to prove Gordon and Sir Sean wrong with the chips we racked in on what we now call the 'Thicc Jinxie'. I got no less than three eleven-to-one payouts on that 'statistically bad investment', so clearly I was doing something right.

They ran the first Stacked Deck tournament of 1019 once the main tournament was down to the final final table, so if you were out of the championship early you could get a leg up in this year's competition. Trent kept saying that this added parity, and he was right but all I kept thinking was that I wish Jack of Redwall was there to make a parity pun instead. Anyways, as I was quite sick of blackjack by then, and definitely sick of losing at roulette, I decided to participate. I didn't stay in long, but at least I didn't completely embarrass myself and I did find it quite enjoyable. I am thinking about entering more in the future.

In the end, Avendar was the big winner at the final table so congratulations to him. Trent won the first tournament of the new season, which is good for him and bad for the person traveling with him as I was quite exhausted and ready to go home.

So now when someone says 'who the fuck is Avendar', you can tell them he's the 1018 Stacked Deck Champion.
